It will be fine I think I wouldn't worry. They will close the Thames Barrier to stop the tide coming in today which will lessen any surge from Reading, Abingdon etc.
Should be fine, are you on a level with the thames? Or are you on higher ground? If your raised away from the Thames there is no problem really the floods are not nice for the other people though. Hopefully they will be fine with the help that is being provided. |

Yes, it is kinda scary. All the river banks that have burst of other rivers in Gloucester, etc. I'm sure the Thames is well managed for emergency levels of water but at the end of the day, nature will always rule over mankind. |

I dont think that it is so bad for the moment, London does actually have some protection for flood waters and such like. I think that a lot of the news outlets wish to make an issue out of London flooding as it gets people watching. Afterall whose really heard of Tewkesbury until now? It's far more likely to be watched / read about if its a city everyone can identify with. Slightly cynically I know, but the media thrives on these stories and makes them slightly more inflated than they perhaps are.
I wouldnt be concerned by it for the moment, London is one of the best protected cities, and as sad as it is the government will do a lot to make sure nothing happens to it. |
