It is the equivalent of 'hijab'

And yes, it is a directive from Allah. But the moustache can be almost completely removed...

Me too, not everyone who's a muslim, chooses to follow the teachings of the prophet pbuh. You only have to look at the fantatics who've hijacked Islam for that.

not all muslim men have a beard, not all muslim women wear hijab...it is partially in modesty though.

in fairness, thats what most christians do...they are selective on what they practice and what they prefer to ignore or deny etc.

"revert", the whole "don't worry - you'll be judged when you die" style of posting.

I dont mean to be rude, but apart from As and Hm, it's a pretty common theme of Islamic postings.

NO

It is from the sunnah as in the prophet had one, and so we follow the prophet mohammed pbuh as an example.

As far as i know, it is not an obligation as such, but pls correct me if i am wrong.

Bare in mind, that at the times o f the prophet, mot men ahd beards and long hair, it was the trend of the time.

Plus, it was a mans world then, and it was seen as manly.

the sunnah being one of the admendums of the day? not the quran, but an "extra"?

is this one of the "authentic" ones, or one of the "questionable" ones?
