And yes, it is a directive from Allah. But the moustache can be almost completely removed... |

Me too, not everyone who's a muslim, chooses to follow the teachings of the prophet pbuh. You only have to look at the fantatics who've hijacked Islam for that. |

in all other respects they appear to follow the teachings (although my knowlege of them is nil so I cant be certain). |

So this brings me right back to my other thread then.
God so needs to send a message and tell you guys which rules are real and which are fake.
You cant all say yea i am a muslim but i only pick this part..or that part surely? |

Am I the only one that feels that "this bit" os "Fact", but "that bit" is for "interpritation".

Thats true- thats what i mean though all these different religions, all the non beleivers ..god has to set the record straight..or maybe he cant becuase he doesnt exist to do so.  |

NO
It is from the sunnah as in the prophet had one, and so we follow the prophet mohammed pbuh as an example.
As far as i know, it is not an obligation as such, but pls correct me if i am wrong.
Bare in mind, that at the times o f the prophet, mot men ahd beards and long hair, it was the trend of the time.
Plus, it was a mans world then, and it was seen as manly. |
