I was scammed almost two years ago and my ID is still being used to do the same to other people. I am the real Louise Jane Millar.
I have reported this to the police, WU and the Home Office. There is still no further developments on the case. I have been advised to seek advice about sueing WU from the Home Office as they have been made aware of the scammers using my identity and continue to allow it.
If anyone has been scammed using my name please contact me... leez0110@hotmail.com. The more evidence the better.
There has also been suggestions of trying to get the press interested. If anyone can offer any help, please be in touch by email.
Cheers |

Once again Thanks for your interest in my apartment,I would like to meet you but I'm a very busy
person I'm not in town right now, I'm here again in Dublin for marketing some of our new product.I could be

will surely like the apartment.Upon My arrival, you will sign the Lease contract which will be prepared by my Lawyer,Pay
me refundable security deposit and Rent in Cash.Since you assured me that you are capable of the rent. This is done for
security of both parties since I am not in town and urgency involved.
I understand your situation right now and maybe we can work things out,But I need to know that i am not coming to waste
my tight schedule. The transfer charges will be deducted from the first month rent .I have attached my international

"She" sent me scan of her passport, which now -looking at it more closely- is clearly a fake. So don't fall for it. |

It immediatly seemed conspicous and I checked her name and the images.
Strangly the images were all taken with different camera models and the creation dates or from 2005-2008.
I'm still in mail contact with this person - I wonder if she/he will order me to pay money. I asked for a meeting, but I doubt that she/he will agree. Lets see... |

She's obviously a persistent scammer, as I received exactly the same email from the mary andison girl.
I got more than a bit suspicious after the second email mentioning the western union and decided to google her. This was the fisrt link to show up - hopefully, this will prevent people falling for the scam.
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. |

I got pretty far along in the process with her-- thankfully I didn't send her any of my information.
She was convincing but I noticed a few things were fishy about her.
Her proclaimed age was much older than the girl in the pictures she sent.
The photos of the flat were all different formats and sizes.
When I asked her if I could block out my ID number before sending it to her, she acted annoyed/suspicious.
When I asked her if my friend who lives in Scotland could visit the flat today, she was very long to respond/suspicious.
Thankfully, he found this thread before going to see the flat! |

Hi Andrew,
Once again Thanks for your interest in my flat, I would like to meet you but I'm a very busy person and not in town right now. I'm here again in Cork Airport,Ireland as cabin crew.I could be back in two weeks time, but that would not stop your viewing and moving.
I would be sending you the apartment keys and necessary documents straight away .I understand your concern and accept that you have to see the flat first before any payment. But you would not be paying me a penny just now. You only need to transfer the security deposit and a months rent to any your friends, family, partner or co worker in the UK through any Moneygram outlet so that i can be sure that you are ready and capable to rent my apartment. If I could confirm the payment with Moneygram, I would Courier the keys and Documents to you immediately, If I cant get away from work.
Since the credit crunch a lot of wannabee tenants end up not serious nor capable of the rent. but I can place a bet you will surely like the apartment. Upon my arrival, you will sign the lease contract which will be prepared by my lawyer, pay
me the refundable security deposit and rent in cash when you have lifted it from the Moneygram. This is done for security of both parties since I am not in town and urgency may be involved.
I understand your situation right now and maybe we can work things out, but I need to know that I’m not going to waste my tight schedule. The transfer charges will be deducted from the first months rent .I have attached my international
passport with this mail because you will need to print it out, take it to my apartment with the documents and keys that I will send to you for your moving/viewing.Should you need more clarification, please don’t hesitate to get back to me as soon as possible, you can add me to your MSN messenger andison.mary@live.com for Talk and better understanding of each other.Await your urgent response
Looking forward to welcoming you into my apartment.

Typical scam but I admire the way that 'Mary' gets around. If you google her email address, you will find that she was touting a flat in Bristol 3 weeks ago - see the post from Lollipoplucy here, plus this thread indicates different posts where she has different careers that keep her away from the pressing need to actually meet her prospective tenants in person.

Hi I had emails of a women Leah Turdy Pires about a flat on converty road bulwell she told me she was in cambridge looking after her ill mother then my bf got a bit worried after she was saying that the only way we can show her that we are serious and we have the deposit is if we use money gram to send it to some one we know then show her the recipet
so we looked it up and came across this site and everything she had put in the emails was just like all these scams, she wouldnt give the flat number to us either but she did send through the tenacy agreement which did make me think she was serious
so i thought i would ask for a contact number to have a chat over the phone with her and she said that i was mad and a time waister
look out for her Leah Pires (brunswick1212@googlemail.com) |

Hey... I stupidly fell partway for the McCugh Kathleen Bridget scam. I sent a scan of my passport, along with my phone number and adress, for the "tenancy" agreement. It wasn't until the next email asked for a western union transfer that I realized it was a scam.
My problem is, they have my passport and I'm afraid they'll use it to scam others. I tried not to panic first, but I have been monitoring my google searches... and today, a search for my name comes up in some sort of criminal database search, and it has my address and everything! I am freaking out that this is what people will see if they google me, and I'm sure it's related to handing my information to those scammers. What should I do? God I can't believe I fell for this. |

This 'mary andison' scammed me just yesterday!
WU didn't act the way they were supposed to either as they handed the money over without 'mary' knowing the receiver's name. I never gave this information to her, just the reference number. And this was after I was assured by a member of WU staff that someone can pick up the money only if they show government issued ID.
Police will do nothing about it on my behalf as they say it is up to WU to investigate and involve police if they want to do so. |

Hi what do you think about this ad? Can I trust it?
| Quote: | Hi,
My name is [name removed] and I have the flat for rent. The rent is 560£ per month including all bills and the concil tax. I moved in Dubai because I got a new job. I work in a hospital. You can rent the flat as long as you need to stay even for 2 or 3 years. The first payment will be for 2 months(1120£).In case you want it, let me know so we can arrange the transaction. For me is very hard to come in UK and if I will come i must be 100% sure that I will not come for nothing.
As you can see in the photos everything it's new in the flat and the flat is fully furnished, newly refurbished and also benefits from wood flooring. You have internet connection, phone, washing machine with dryer, cable TV and most important parking place. Please let me know what your intentions are....when you intend to move in?how long you want the contract to last for?how many people would be living in it and some other things you feel i should know.

Here is my reply to that email message:
| Quote: | Hi [name removed],
the flat is very nice indeed. I am a female professional. I am glad to know that all expenses are included. I would be the only one to rent and live in the appartment. I live in the [location removed] now, but I need to be nearer to the central London.
How would you organise the transaction in order to be sure on both sides?
Can you tell me the full address of the property in order I can visit it from outside at least?
If you are in Dubai, who is going to give me the keys? I would need the flat starting from beginning of March, for 6 months at least, but I am flexible, if you are not in the condition of coming, I can wait a couple of weeks.
Let me know. |

Here is the ad poster's reply:
| Quote: | Hi,
I work in a hospital and is very hard for me to come in UK. I can't take the risk to leave my new job for days and when I arrive in UK to see that I come for nothing. I want to be 100% sure that when I will meet you, we do the rent papers then i can come back in Dubai.
So i can be sure of that look how we can do:
You make the payment from your name and address to your best friend name and address in UK using Western Union for 2 months rent that means 1120 £ and send me the scanned receipt. As soon as I see the scanned receipt that you have made the payment, I will come in UK and you will see the flat and maybe rent it. After that, we will go together at the Western Union office and you will take the money back and pay me.So all you have to do is to find a Western Union office and wire 1120 £ from your name to your friend name and send the scanned receipt. I am asking you this to be sure that I do not come in UK for nothing. When you will go to the WesternUnion Office to wire the money sometimes they ask you why are you doing that and if you tell them you want make the payment for rent a flat when pick up the money you must pay another fees and for don't pay another money you must tell to WesternUnion you will send the money to a person how need the money or you make it a gift,(i think you don`t want pay more money for this).I will reserve the apartment to the first one that when we meet to show you the flat.As soon as I have the confirmation from WesternUnion that the money are available on his name I stop the transaction provides me have money available in WesternUnion account.
The WesternUnion transfer fee i will pay you back cash with all the other customers.
I expect your decision about this if you want rent my flat because i have more people interested in rented apartment.
Thank you for your time ! |
