Hi!
I am currently an Au Pair 20mins out of London and I want to move into London to be closer to everything - mates, social life etc etc...
I have no idea where to start, what suburbs to move to..I am a 22 year old Aussie looking for a house share accomm, outgoing ppl fun to go out with - easy going, friendly etc etc.
Apparently West London/SW is good? Fulham, Hammersmith, Notting Hill? I do come into London a fair bit, just unsure as to where the popular/nice places are to live!
What type of stuff do I need to buy to move out? Like Duvet Covers, utensils stuff like that? or is it already there?
I havent started job hunting yet - I have given my notice for the end of May, and when I decide on an area of London to head for - I will do that. Preferably not nannying! hehe
But yeah, I would apprecaite it if anyone could give me advice on anything about moving into the big smoke, as I am all new to it and have been living with a family since January...Even job hunting as well..
Well guys, thanks for taking the time to read this post - looking forward to some posts or emails!

Hey,
Notting Hill is probably a big pricey and I doubt there are many sharehouse type setups there. Hammersmith and Fulham are full of them but will tend to be a bit more pricey (and probably nicer) than houses in Acton and Shepherd's Bush. I would say that Acton tends to be a hugely popular area with Aussie/Kiwi/Saffa types and there are loads of big houseshares all over the show from Acton Town tube (on the Picadilly Line) to North, West and East Acton (all on the Central Line) and everything in between.
Shepherd's Bush is popular as well and might be a bit more expensive overall than Acton, but a bit closer to the city as well. I've heard that Ealing is getting more popular but haven't spent much time out there. Willesden is popular as well but people I know who have lived there call it 'The Hood' so make up your own mind on that one. Wow I've never used the word 'popular' so much is one paragraph. I really should get some new adjectives.
Good luck with your hunt!
