Look people I've been reading shedloads about shite IT training CIW, dodgy colleges etc.
Look I've stumped up 5k For an Msc at City University, Birkbeck do them for about 3k. If its not a university BSc or MSc or a Cisco/Oracle/Microsoft/Sun just do not touch the F**ker. OK if your not a british citizen the university will screw you as overseas but if your Oz, Saffa etc get it on citizenship.
I'm a software developement manager and I would not employ someone with a CIW unless it was mixed in with better qualifications and experience. check jobserve there no jobs that require CIW or Chartered Internet Webmaster |

It SO refreshing reading some sense of this forum. I've been verbally trying to beat this into empty skulls for years now. These training chop shops feed on people's laziness and natural urges to take the easy way out in life by taking courses that promises them a 40k job and a fully comp company car....after 6 months of training, and people still fall for this shit year after year.
As a engine and tools programmer for Sony, I just laugh when I see this Computeach adds telling that young guy he can be a game developer. Yeah, it took me 16 years of programming, reading hundreds of technical manuals, study hardware and software architecture, writing AI packages, millions of line of code, collaborating on countless mods and total conversions of the most popular games and programs out there, to become AVERAGE in what I do. The complexities of development on assembly level is staggering.....and then some smuck in a cheap suit comes and tell you it's possible within 6-8 months at college XYZ. |
