What i think the best thing to do in these cases is if you can, go to the property before viewing or transferring any money and knock on the door. If someone answers, just talk to them so you can find out about what is really going on.

If you're going to be handing over close to £2k, it's well worth EVERY penny.

The problem is, most of these scammers rarely give you the actual address of the place. They will just say it's in Paddington, or on Fulham Rd but don't usually give you a building number no matter how many times you ask.
