Report abuse of hotmail accounts here.
Or, email them direct at: abuse@passport.com
That way, the hotmail account will be shut-down, and break any other in progress scams too. |

Sadly, receiving scam emails has now become a daily recurrence for me. I have another address to add to the list:
angel_flatmate@yahoo.com
Claiming to be a Norwegian studying in London but gave address In Loughborough, Leicestershire, saying flat was 10 minutes from the tube station! Not only are these people assholes but they are stupid as well! I guess that's lucky for us...
This one is obviously originating from outside the UK. I even removed by email address from my ad so the emails could be passed through gumtree only, but they scams are still getting through! |

Helen Coleman offered me a very nice room in West Drayton. It sounded ok until she brought up the viewing deposit via Western Union.
This scam is particularly dangerous for people who are arriving from abroad (like the guy in here who lost 2000 pounds).
There are a lot of dodgy people out there, sadly. |

This one contacted me via gumtree and also ukeasyroommate.com
No name given on one ad but phone no. given as following (note it's not even long enough)

Address: Seaford street
Neighborhood: Regend square, WC1 8HD
City: London
Rent: £400 per Month(s),£100 per Week
Available: 17 Jan 2008
Same ad was sent to me giving an email address name starting with 'abbeysapartment'. I have reported this ad to gumtree. |

Yes, I have tried writing to Yahoo and to Hotmail about all these scammers, but I can't seem to get the IP addresses to show in the mail they send me. I have a hotmail account and have tried following the instructions from various sites to enable the IP address to be shown in the message headers, but my account just doesn't appear to have the options stated, and Yahoo and Hotmail say they can do nothing about it without the IP addresses. |

Are you using the "classic" version?
The "full view" version is explained Here, although I gather it may not show the IP details. Seems they don't want you to report spam.  |

forward the email to abuse@yahoo.com, and comment on how you feel it is a scam, and harrasment of yourself.
It might at least get the account closed down. I would add, always do this when you recieve emails from @hotmail.com @yahoo.com and so on.
If everyone did, it would make quite a dent in the scammers normal day to day opperation |

Watch out - another possible Western Union scam artist - KENNY KENNEDY, e-mail address: twinkennedy02@yahoo.com - this is more than likely the same person who tried the Western Union scam on me earlier on today (DEBBIE RICH - debbyrich@yahoo.com).
I just received a reply regarding an ad for a flat in Islington that I had enquired about (Posting ref: 18774486 - 1 BEDROOM FLAT FULLY FURNISHED AND SPACIOUS AVAILABLE FOR RENT IN UPPER STREET,ISLINGTON,LONDON,N10UY), and judging by their use of language & content, this is the same person! The top message is the first message I got from the flat in Islington (Kenny Kennedy), and the bottom message is the first message I got from the flat in Wimbledon (Debbie Rich)! Oh and Kenny Kennedy sent the funnies picture of the "flat" ever - the flat was supposed to be in Islington - strange that you can see PALM TREES outside the window! Geeez...

I've sent 1200€ through western union and have no news since then.
Do you think she can be one of the scammers?
What do you think we can do?
Pleasssssssssssssssssse help me or give me some idea i'm angry, lost...

I'm sorry to say that the money is lost.
You should go to the police - there will be someone they can put you in touch with who knows about this, but it is very unlikely that you will ever see that money again. Western Union is an untraceable cash transfer system. |
