I have several types of thyme in my garden, they are good ground cover for shallow patches of earth. I have a lovely camomile step, the smell is quite intoxicating when i sit on it. My other outdoor herbs have all been eaten by the dog!! I did used to have some parsley and coriander on my window sill, but I think the winter killed them off.

What about you, any luck on the herb front?

That all sounds lovely - even if the dog destroyed some of it - I do miss my garden! One day again I'll have one, in the meantime I have parsely, chives and lavender in pots - oh and jazzmine - I love jazzmine when it is in flower. I am going to invest in some more herbs though - maybe even as soon as this weekend! What part of the world are you in?

I had Jasmine a few years ago, the scent from the flowers would go all through the flat, for some reason it never flowered again once I moved into a house. Anything scented is fine by me. Even a vase of lillies in the fire place, beautiful and intoxifying. Good luck on the herb front..

I'm in England by the way.

Really - my grandparents were from England and my Mother and her sister never got home there to see where their parents came from, so guess what - I am coming over in September to visit. I have a cousin in Farnham area I haven't met yet after writing for 16 years!

Sounds great you must be excited to be visiting your relatives, and coming all this way for a holiday too..

I hope you will get some time to do some sight seeing. Cornwall and Devon have some beautiful coastal scenery and the most darling little fishing villages, so 'oldy worldy'. If you do have more time, you really must try to get to the west coast of Scotland. It really is the most beautiful, perfect place in the whole of Great Britain. My heart really belongs there.

Have you got a favourite place in Australia??

Yes it is all a bit surreal at the moment as it has been a lifelong dream of mine and now it is really happening. We do hope to get up to the west coast of Scotland - we are definitely going to Edinburugh and St Andrews. My girlfriend over here grew up in Scotland so has been really helpful. We are driving around ourselves for 10 days so will see quite a bit but we will back again I'm sure to venture further than we get this time round.
Yes I do have a few favourite places in Australia. I love the Queensland Coast from Sunshine Coast, where we live, north up to the Cape past the Daintree - we have done that trip quite a few times and it never ceases to amaze me of it's beauty. I also love some parts of the Hunter Valley NSW and inland country of Byron Bay NSW. We love the outback and the people out there are wonderful to meet. We have ventured up to Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory as we have friends who have moved up there onto an aboriginal settlement - he is a Mission Aviation Pilot up there. That was great! It is a big country area wise - so vast! We hope to go right around in a few years time. That would be wonderful! I love hitting the road and not knowing where we are adventuring to.
Interesting life is - isn't it?

Yes I must say life is always interesting, even if you do roughly the same things everyday there is always something to stand back and admire.

I wish we where still able to just get in the car and go. But having a toddler means everything has to be planned like a military operation. But I really wouldn't have it any other way. My son is my life, he is my moon and stars, my reason for living. I never new what love really was until I had my son. Mother love is and must be the strongest form of love. Do you have kids?

I'm gonna be muching on carrots and apples for the next couple years (unless fate deems otherwise) to detox the body of all the processed food i've eaten since i was a kid.

I often wonder if your organic carrot or apple is gonna be any better or worse in terms of chemical/ mineral/vitamin content than the mass grown value carrots and apples i'm currently eating a la tesco - anyone know of any actual medical proof or is it all just theories, with no actual facts ?

I should have thought so, HL, since certain weedkillers have already been identified as causing ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Organics haven't had any anywhere near them!
Also, my old mum is now 95 and, of course, there was nothing but organic available in her young days and my grandad had a fruit and veg business so she would have eaten tons of them.

Sorry - I have actually been busy with family matters - yes I do have kids or adults now. I, we, my husband and I have three daughters; now all married. The eldest daughter, Bonita has a 5 year old daughter and a 10 month old son. They are adorable. Our girls have always been the centre of our lives - they have all married lovely guys and we do alot of family things together. We recently rented a big house for Easter break and we had a ball, spending time together. We are a simple family who love playing games, sport, and just having a good laugh together. Each of our son-in-laws get on so well. Along with my husband they are a good foursome - they all love sport and just kidding around as boys do!

Sorry, it's taken some time to reply. I have had a virus, left me a little too tired in the evening to go surfing the web. My son is nearly 2 1/2 years old. You sound like a lovely family, easy going. Bonita is such a lovely name, almost Spanish sounding, is it a family name?

It is so good to hear from you again - I was only thinking of you the other day and wondering what had happened. I have revamped my computer and was hoping nothing had happened that way. I do hope you are feeling well again. These viruses can knock you around. Get onto a good anti-oxidant to build your immune system up again - but you probably already know that - sorry! Yes Bonita is Spanish for Pretty One - my husband found it in a book just prior to her being born and so we switched from Jodi (which is our second daughter's name) to Bonita at the last minute almost.

I bet you are busy iwth your 2 1/2 year old son - I have been looking after my 1 year old grandson once a week. He is such a machine but I love every minute of him being here. He is so knowing now and gets so excited when he sees us now. Very Happy Anyway I am pleased you are better now.

Love to hear from you soon -
