It doesn't just happen on ebay, we get it with local online classifieds as well, It's easy to deal with, No money in hand = No Goods, Anyway ebay don't care, they just send you back a standard form letter, you may as well talk to a brick wall.

There is a body in Nigeria which hunts these people down carries out lands them in jail. Unfortunately, they are not well publicised as the scammers do not want you to hear about them. Their website is : http://www.efccnigeria.org/ I usually mention in my eBay listings that any fraudulent behaviour would be reported to the EFCC and I don't hear from these people. If you're after a bit of fun, you could coax your "buyers" real details, and stage a visit from the EFCC.. Smile

Hi,

I hope you dont mind me posting but I used to work for Ebay. The scams described below are not uncommon.

The best advice I can give...

Buyers
Always pay with Paypal as if you do not get the item you can be refunded.
Do not buy intangiable (must be able to see and touch) goods as they are not covered.
If you return an item to the seller always get proof of postage.

Sellers.
Check that the money is actually in your paypal account before you send the item. (Some scammers will send fake emails that look as if they come from paypal telling you that you have been paid).

Only ever post to the paypal registered address of the buyer as you will not be covered if you send goods to a different address (even the persons work address).

Always get proof of postage for the item you are sending.

Report all scammers to Paypal and Eay

I really hope this is helpful
C
