Hi Holls

A friend and I are working with London Skolars to run a tag rugby competition in Finsbury park over July and August.
The plan is to play games on Tuesday night between 6:30 and 9
We are hoping to get 12 teams at all levels
We should be getting details up on a website soon
If you are interested, drop me an email at skolarstag@yahoo.co.uk and I will keep you up to date with the plans

Hello Guys,

I am involved in the tag rugby in Wimbledon RFC so check out www.tagrugby.com. We are hosting a tournament in June and July and we are recruiting players from all over London so start rounding up your friends. Anyone can play! In the meantime why not come down for our open day on the 26th April....It will be a right laugh! It will be a big event so if you know anyone who needs to get out in the fresh air and get active and have a great time bring them along too! There will be plenty of time also to socialise and meet new people in the club bar with people from all over! Remember this is just the open day so come along and you will get a taster of what is to come in the summer! Very Happy

As this has been bumped up I thought I would mention that Skolars Tag Rugby will be back in 2009. Details are currently being confirmed. We are looking for players of both sexes, referees, volunteers and sponsors. If you'd like to be kept informed with developments please email skolarstag@yahoo.co.uk

Last summer I think they did one or two festivals. As far as I know, Skolars ran the only weekly competition in London last summer.

Up here in Rochdale we are hosting the International Mixed Tag Rugby Festival on Saturday the 30th of May.
We have teams from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and a Fiji Rep side along with teams from across England inc. Coventry, Bradford, Leeds, York, Widnes and several sides from Rochdale.
Also the head of OzTag, Kurt Wrigley is joining us.

If you fancy coming up teams can camp at the venue on both the Friday and Saturday nights.

Friday night we are having a welcome BBQ, a touch rugby comp and disco and karaoke.

Saturday sees the competition itself with post match food for the players Refs and support staff.
A bit of Northern Culture with a local Brass Band
and a disco into the early hours!

Its a mixed competition, 7-a-side with 2 members of the opposite sex on the field at all times i.e. 2 women 5 men or 2 men 5 women etc.

Its £60 per team, maximum squad size 12 (thats only £5 per person!)

If you need more info or would like to sign up contact me mark.wynn@talk21.com

Due to the success of London Skolars Tag Rugby, we have decided to step things up a bit.

The London Tag Rugby Championships will be held at Finsbury Park (venue TBC) on August 30th. There will be separate competitions for Men's open, Men's social, Mixed and Men's Masters (over 35). Prize money of up to £2K available for the winning Men's open team.

Tag Rugby is an exciting non contact version of rugby popular throughout the world. It is easy for beginners to learn and great fun to play.

Full details will be released soon, in the mean time join the Facebook group to keep informed of developments.
