Hi all,

Happy New Year. hope you all enjoyed season's holidays.

I have these updates on Univisas case:

1- This case is scheduled in Isleworth Crown Court (Ph: 0208 380 4500)

On 26th Jan 2009, its scheduled for Directions
On 21st Apr 2009, its scheduled for initial trial.
On 5th May 2009, actual trial will start.

This trial may take around 10 weeks after May, so we can expect an outcome somewhere around August/Sep 2009. This case is linked to two other cases.

2- J K Sharma and Co are in Wormwood Scrubs Prison (Hammersmiths), I also have got his Prisoner number.

Right Indian and me have discussed this new info a bit ago, in our opinion if we arrange to see Mr Sharma in prison, as a group, it would be very helpful as we could get detailed info about the actual case from him. I think he is the source of actual and reliable updates on this case and he knows whats actually going on.

Guys lets decide a day and time and meet him up there in a group.

Cheers

THREE Indian illegal immigrants masterminded the single biggest visa scam seen in Britain, a court heard today.
The gang ran a fraud factory creating thousands of counterfeit documents enabling hundreds to cheat border controls, Isleworth Crown Court in West London was told.

Prosecutor Francis Sheridan said the “systematic attack” opened the door to hundreds of unsuitable migrants without means to support themselves leaving the taxpayer to foot the bill.

He said one member was secretly recorded boasting how Home Office officials “do not even bother to look” at documents and “just stamp them blindly”.

Mr Sheridan told the jury: “They were acting on behalf of clients to cheat the Home Office, to cheat the Home Office wholesale.

“They have made a fortune, there are no bones about that, they have made a small fortune at the hands of the Home Office.”

Met Police officers and officials from the UK Border Agency swooped on Univisa, based in Southall, West London, in February 2008.

Seized

They acted after a local newspaper journalist posing as a migrant uncovered evidence of counterfeit documents for sale, the court heard.

They discovered a mountain of 90,000 documents including false university certificates, academic records, bank statements and pay slips.

Investigators seized 980 individual files and of 117 analysed in detail, 113 were found to contain fraudulent information.

Mr Sheridan said the fraud focused on abusing the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme which is designed to enable well qualified individuals with useful skills to work in Britain.

He said the company would charge up to £4,000 to obtain visas and those behind the scam were so confident they offered a money back guarantee.

The barrister said: “The defendants can be said to have launched a systematic attack on the integrity of the Home Office by their submission of false and bogus documents.

“In some instances applicants from very humble backgrounds found themselves to be the holders of degrees and post-graduate qualifications in a matter of months.

“Academic ability was not the main criteria, cash was. They have achieved that status on arriving in the UK by paying for it without the troublesome step of attending college.”

He added: “It is believed this prosecution represents the largest single prosecution of dishonest records ever submitted to the Home Office by an individual business. It is a huge attack on the system.”

Those behind the business were Jatinder Kumar Sharma, 44, his wife Rakhi Shahi, 31, and a second woman Neelam Sharma, 38, who may also be his wife, the court heard.

Mr Sheridan said the trio, who lived together in Southall, hid behind a web of false identities and documentation.

He said the three submitted false applications to remain in Britain themselves and then used the same techniques with “gay abandon” in the criminal business.
The prosecutor said arrogant Sharma dubbed himself “son of a lion” and his money back guarantee “typified his scandalous disregard” for the system.

Shahi was the sole owner of the business which turned over far in excess of his declared £100,000 per year earnings, the court heard.

Neelam Sharma worked in the “engine room” of the company creating false documents and fraudulently declaring them as genuine under the guise of an accredited immigration consultant, it is alleged.

It can be reported today for the first time that Jatinder Sharma pleaded guilty to a series of immigration offences at an earlier hearing.

The two women defendants deny conspiracy to defraud, possessing criminal property and several immigration offences.

Hello Guys,

i am new to this issue, i am wondering if some one can reply my few questions -

i was one of the best supporter to fight againts HSMP issue of changing rule in 2006 and we won it this year. Let me know if we can help any way to take some of you out of the HO issue - subject the people who are GENUINE and NO FAKE DOCS.

To whom should we need to talk and out teams solicitors will contact officially?

I am also wondering why do you guys need to contact such a person - the one who used UNIVISAS for fake docs.

UK is one of the advance tech company and people like Jitendra Sharma is got endless hunger for money £4MM is too much.

Why so many of you went to same route....its completely madness.

i am definately sure, HO will throw out as many as of them, spl after lots os issue raised in media against HO in last few years - such as - HSMP for Docs, then Rule change in 2006 for normal HSMP extension and Gurkha's this year.

As per my little info on this, HO must be sending all docs to Integra in India for full check and report every case to HO in UK.

They got extremely TOP people working in India to check every one.

Contact me guys on my email - akiliyas@gmail.com and i will give free advice and help to people who are Genuine and got traped in this issue.

Thanks and good luck to all 980 people try to use the short cut

Hi,
I spoke to HO and according to them the documents are with police and they are not going to relase the documents untill the trial finishes as rakhi was the representative so police is holding the docs but once the trail finised, all the doc will be returned to hsmp team and after that they will make the decision.

As far as trail is concerned i knew that it continued today aswell, but didnt know that were they able to make the final decision, will chk 2morrow.

Hello my fellow brethren how are you all holding up. Jesus will definitely make a way where there seems to be no way. Trust and believe and be of Good cheer.

We are going through the most peculiar situation and when faced with such adversity its always a way for God to reveal something to us and for us to ponder on some things and build our faith and to make us stronger.

I reflect with your sentiments to see a closure to this and to move on with our lives. Many of us have been separated from our loved ones and have been running in circles but I just want to thank the lord for sustaining us.

I must say things are getting tougher in terms of finance and you know what they say the toughest walk is when you get closer to the top of the submit on a mountain.

In prayers

Gang 'ran UK's biggest visa scam'

Prosecutor Francis Sheridan said the Home Office's system was naive
A gang accused of running Britain's biggest visa fraud factory exploited a "shambolic" system, a court has heard.

The Home Office's failure to spot dozens of bogus graduate applications was a "damning indictment", prosecutors told Isleworth Crown Court.

Rakhi Shahi, 31, and Neelam Sharma, 38, of Southall, west London, face fraud, immigration and other charges.

Ms Shahi's husband Jatinder Sharma, 44, has already admitted several offences after he was secretly filmed boasting.

'Liar and crook'

Sharma was caught when he offered to get an undercover newspaper reporter a post-graduate diploma in business administration and other papers for about £4,000.

He told the reporter work permits were "very risky" but the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) "will do good for you".

He had submitted a series of false documents to remain in the UK after visiting in 2003, the court heard.

The Home Office system was designed to operate with trust. The evidence shows it was naive in its conception and a shambles in reality

Prosecutor Francis Sheridan said evidence gathered for the case presented a "damning indictment" of failures by the Home Office.

Summing up the case against the two women, he said: "The Home Office system was designed to operate with trust. The evidence shows it was naive in its conception and a shambles in reality."

The Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) was also criticised by Mr Sheridan.

He said applications which had omitted important information were nevertheless approved.

Exams to qualify as an immigration adviser were also wide open to fraud as they could be taken online, the prosecutor added.

When police and UK Border Agency officials raided the defendants' alleged company, Univisas, in Southall in February 2008, they found 90,000 documents and 980 individual files, the court heard.

They included false university certificates, academic records, bank statements and pay slips.

The alleged fraud centred on exploiting the HSMP and other leave to remain applications, with clients even offered a money back guarantee, the jury was told.

The fees charged ranged from hundreds to thousands of pounds, the court was told.

Mr Sheridan described Ms Shahi as an accomplished liar and crook who was the brains behind the business.

Former teacher Ms Sharma, who has two children by Sharma, was also a committed liar who worked in the "engine room", Mr Sheridan added.

All three lived together, hiding behind a web of false identities and documents, the prosecution claimed.

One former employee, who was paid £100 a week for administrative work, said she handed over £64,000 in £50 notes at one college in return for a pile of certificates.

The jury is expected to retire to consider its verdicts on Thursday.
