i have a laptop for sale and one guy is telling me secend day now to give him my bank details so he gonna send me money and after that i have to make a package and send him my laptop ( by shipment ),and his giving me more money + some for paying for shipment ,so im afraid hi is trying to rip me off .

definitely - avoid

or ask him to make payment but say you will wait at least 10 days for monies to clear and have bank confirmation of clearance before despatch

Be careful - it sounds like a typical scam - even once in your bank the money can come back out if it is a fake cheque.

He's not offerining to give you a cheque - he's offering to put the money in your account. That may not necessarily be a scam. I pay people direct into their accounts all the time.
The scam normally is to pay you too much by cheque and asks you to give him the over-payment back to him in cash - so you end up with a fraudulent cheque so not paid for your PC, and you've already given them your laptop and cash!
If they want to pay you directly, why don't you open a Paypal account. It's free and you'll have access to the cleared funds.

Another option could be to meet in person and do an exchange or if that's not possible, have them post you a banker's draft - which is already cleared funds that you can deposit straight into your acct.

Well i think its a scam. If he tries to contact you by e-mail, try threatening him Smile Its should stop him Smile
