I've passed on this feedback before, but I wanted to post it publicly as it annoys me so much.

I'm looking for a flatshare that I can move into, but you make me choose between searching North London and South London separately.

What if I want to search ALL of London? I have to do two separate searches, which is a really poor user experience - I don't want to! I want to be able to do it in one search!

Alternatively, if I want to be able to search 'Central London' I can't, which is ridiculous and impossible because of the way you make users search North London and South London separately.

It's ridiculous! If I want to live 'somewhere central' then an ideal home might be about 600 metres away, but it won't appear in my results because of the way you've arranged things.

GRRRR!!!

But my point is that you're forcing people to choose between North and South London on an entirely arbitrary manner.

As you're aware, London is divided into travelcard zones. I want to be able to say 'I'm looking for somewhere in Zone 1' but currently I can't unless I do two searches. Forcing people to search on the basis of North/South is as arbitrary as East/West or Odd Numbered Houses/Even numbered houses.

Yes, London is big, but it's really annoying to have to do two searches when I want to find somewhere central. Just because a river flows through it doesn't mean you have to make people search twice - it's a rubbish user experience! Sad

Why do you feel the need to be so unhelpful?

I'm posting feedback to gumtree as requested, as a real user who wants to make a suggestion for how my experience on the site could be improved?

If you haven't got anything useful to say then why not keep your comments to the general discussion areas of this forum?

Birmingham may suit you better, it's half the size of London and you can search the whole area.
