Love the English, great folks. Not really different from the Scots TBH, just sound better!!!!!

Lived in Camden for a year, WOW, also i worked for periods in Midlands, Chester, Slough, Essex, Bath, Bristol and Manchester.......I loved it there.

Good beers too!!!! Loads of micro breweries with amazing tasting beer....

English Footy is also miles better that the Scottish effort at a league.

Yep the English are cool IMHO

^^ That wouldn't be a rather blatant effort at a wind-up, by any chance?

I don't particularly like the English any more or less than any other nationality. No strong feelings either way really and have nothing against the English.

I always support the English national football team (and also both Irelands + Wales). I will even support England on the rare occasions when Scotland qualify for a tournament.

I do find it a bit sad that there are so many of my fellow Scots who are just completely anti-English when it comes to football. I think it reflect badly on the overall image and mentality of our nation. It's as if some have a giant king edward potato on their shoulder. A chip on the shoulder I could live with and understand perhaps, but a whole potato is taking things to far.

Isn't that a tad harsh?

Surely you would concur at the very least there must be a couple of decent ones out of 50 million or so?

I'm english and used to share digs when at uni in liverpool with a Glaswegian. Couldn't understand a word he was saying.....BUT i always used to ask him to repeat it and he did until eventually i understood the strains of his brogue...... we got on really well and used to laff at all the people he'd talk to who'd just nod coz they didn't have the decency to find out what he meant....

Upshot is...people are people and you don't need a nationailty as a prerequisite to being a total nob or gud guy/gal

It's comment like that and the North of Birmingham one that make us Scots look like racist, small minded twats.

I like the English and have never had any ill feeling towards me in all the time I've been in London or West Midlands. I lived in Stepney Green for a while and this proper geezer dude helped me carry all my beer from the shop cos' I didn't have enough hands! It's also great that most of the girls down here love my accent.

I in fact will miss London when I return to Glasgow.

If you must quote someone to have a go at them at least be fair and quote the whole post.

Hey I'll be the first to hold my hand up to a mistake. To think I removed that bit too.

Twat indeed.

Hope my apology will be accepted, not to Lurkalot, but to Thally.

One more thing. It doesn't make me look like a small minded twat, just a bit of a doofus for not reading the whole thing.

Embarassed

At least I got the other one right.
