I work for an Investment manager. Our Jap portfolio manager had a meeting with the CEO of Sony in Japan last week. Apparently they have some problems with the spec of Blu-Ray (amongst other things), but have given themselves a 60 day deadline. At the end of 60 days they will be announcing the official production dates.

well it sounds like and old battle, maybe you are too young, and the fighter's name are differents, but in the early 90's something similar happens with the 16 bits, sega's mega drive goes out half and a year before the Super nintendo, and what a fight! finally super nes gain the bid...but hey, Sega had left after they console's business some hardcore fans (yeah i'm one of those). really i think that Sony if screwing things a little, now the market is much more fast and more than a year is a big amount of time. although they are quite fucked with the PSP, i've heard that all they try of creating a new standard with the UMD have gone to hell and producers are not releasing his new movies in this format. any news about that?

I have spoken to the people at Sony, my local Gamestation and Game and they are still taking pre-orders for PS3 with a release date of 13th November 2006. Pre-order price is £40. The RRP they have been given is £474.99 for the hard drive version.

............... and woomister, you should stop advertising these things as free - THEY AREN'T FREE. You have to pay to join and complete an offer (£10-£15 average per offer) and then you need 10-15 referrals from your friends/family etc and they have to do the same - it costs at least £100+ not all the cost to you but your friends and family won't be impressed spending their money so you can have all this stuff!
