photos disappear when I update and re-post an advert

Recently I updated (ie. reduced asking price!) and re-posted a couple of my ads, but it was only later that I realised they'd appeared without the photos. In fact, I had to re-upload the photos and submit again...

Any reason why photos disappear like this?
