Property Professionals Ltd- This is a total con. I enrolled with them 1 year ago. I have still not qualified. the Awarding Body for the Built Envrionment is a joke and in the pocket of Property Professionals. When you complain to them they just tell you to take legal action- it has nothing to do with them.
I am in the process of complaing to OFQAL about ABBE and to Birmingham City University to which ABBE is affliated.
If there are any people who have been taken for a ride please get in touch and them we can coordiante our efforts.
DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE! |

COMPLETE RIP-OFF STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
GERRY IS A CON MAN!
I had a friend who 'applied for the job' in the newspaper and he told her to travel 50miles for an 'interview'. He asked for her details and what she didn't know was that he was inputting them into a computer in front of her that was applying for a loan from Barclays. He made her put down her autns inheritance money as a deposit and watched her while she read the contract. Before she had read it he told her he was working late and needed to get home so she just had to sign it!
She started the 'course' and there were costs and costs and costs. She regulary complained but the admin staff don't let you speak to Gerry. They charged thousands for the course and everyone is too scared to complain as they say if you are good they will offer you work. For your third module you are told in an email you have to pay £50 for the maunuel which includes a username and password. You also have to pay £10 for delivery. They say its ABBE fees not theirs. Rubbish! The manuel is the same as the moduel guide they give out! Then they tell you you can sit the ABBE exam(by the way all the exams are £20) next week and pay £333! At the interview he said it was included.
Honestly this course is so not worth while, its a rip off and its the company trying to benefit from the unemployed. |

HOW TO COMPLAIN AND BE HEARD!
ABBE have the power to investigate PP and their training practises with regard to adequately supplying and supporting students, HOWEVER they have so far only received a handful of complaints in writing.
They will only investigate and potentially do something about PP if everyone who is unhappy formally complains to ABBE in writing, ranting to each other and an online forum is not something they have the power to investigate.
So I urge anyone who is unhappy with PP to put your complaint in writing to ABBE, it doesn't matter if you are echoing the same points as everyone else, the complaints will only be investigated if ABBE receive hundreds of letters from different students. They can then see the sheer volume of unhappiness with PPs qualifications and launch an investigation.
The same goes for OfQual they will only deem it necessary to investigate if they receive what they deem as a large volume of complaints. PP have hundreds of candidates join them every month, so a large volume would need to be over a hundred individual complaints! |

ABBE have power to do alot of things. Shut down PP if needs be. But to date they have not done anything. To the contrary they have "fobbed of people" saying it is either a "contractual issue" or a "financial issue" and therefore nothing to do with them.
"Ranting" as you put it on a forum does have its purposes - it alerts innocent people that Property Professionals are a con and that if they are sucked in then doen't expect any help from ABBE. |

You are mad if you go with this company after reading what has been put on here. "accepted" Of course you were accepted. I bet you got 100% on their stupid test which a monkey with one eye can do as well. I have over 60 people who have been connned by this company and we are now all trying to get some justice. |

Hi peeps,
Just an update, I was out recently and met someone who has parted with their cash to become a level 3 commercial assessor over 18 months ago!!! they can not get qualified as nor can most people who enroled around the same time. He said the penalty fees incured have made some people swallow it and walk away with a huge loss. What a clever scam I might start an astronaught training school "guarenteed trip to the moon for anyone who can qualify" !! |

I have been training with property professionals. there is quite a lot to say on this subject and it is not as simple as 'this is a scam' or 'this is not a scam'.
The government should shoulder much responsibility for passing the legislation and then allowing the training to be carried out by expensive private companies. It very much contradicts their normal approach to education.
Property Professionals have to be regulated by ABBE and as such are fully accredited to carry out the training.
The problem seems to be that they can charge what they like, and by golly they charge. your 5k+ is only the start - they don't tell you about all the additional costs - too many to list here, but you are probably up to close to 7k by the time you have finished.
It was made fairly clear to me at my interview that there was no money in becoming a DEA, but becoming a CEA was profitable. The quality of the trainers is actually very good -they know their subject - but the company method and pricing is inexucasble and they are preying on vulnerable people who have been made reduntant.
Having a DEA qualification might be useful if you are, for example, an estate agent or work for one - by doing the EPC your self you can save money and increase your profit margin, or a HIp pack provider. The problem is also alot of people think they can become a DEA as a profession - you can't and the best way is to do it as part of a profession as I have mentioned.
Overall - if you want to become a DEA as part of the professional services you might offer people then find a cheaper training course - there are plenty of them out there. if you do sign up make sure you are clear about ALL the costs involved.
PP are not a good company - I started last Feb and am still not qualified - rediculous - it should take about 4 weeks in my view. |
