Working in Zante/ Malia JULY- SEPT 2009!- anyone else going?

Hi,

Im looking to go out in the first week of July to work for the rest of the season either in Zante or Malia- cant decide which! Have been to both and both were amazing!! I know July will be late to find a job but I am a cheerleader and have a massive competition at the very beginning of July so cant go out before then! My friend went out n worked in Malia in August and September last year and she had no trouble finding a job.

Basically I am looking for any girls who are already going to either island and planning on going out end of june/beginning of july who maybe want to share accom etc. Or would be good to no people before i go out!!

I am heading to the Greek Islands from 18 July... in croatia from 11-18. I am meeting up with a friend somewhere in the Greek Islands but have not decided where yet...

How long are you wanting to stay there until?

We were hoping to work there for about a month, but may just island hop for 3 weeks, and get the odd bar job here and there.

Where abouts are you based at the moment?

Ah right thats cool! Yeh Zante and Malia are the best places to be this season hehe! I wanted to stay there until around mid september really.

i'm looking to work in malia from mid july till mid september. i've got a couple of mates heading out there in 3 weeks, so gonna meet them out there. so are u heading over on your own? i'm sure we'll be ok getting jobs etc... plus my mates can always help me out before i go over! Smile

. yeh im going on my own coz none of my friends want to do it hehe. thats y i post a message on here to c if i could chat to anyone else going around the same time so i wouldnt be completely on my own hehe.
whereabouts ru from? im going over to malia for a wk hol at the end of may so i think malia will be the place i end up goin in july as i will prob fall in love with it agen haha!

Thats kl, u must b brave lol i'd be scared to go on my own. don't mean to put u off, i'm sure u'll love it! i've never been before but i'm sure i'm gona like it. I'm from the lake district originally but at uni in Bournemouth now. Think i'm staying in bournemouth to work this summer until i go. where abouts r u from? x

I am gong to malia the 5th of june with some friends for a week and was seriously considering getting a job out there for couple of months just for the experience and fun job but none of my friends are up for it and the only doubt i have is not knowing anyone out there and dont have first clue about accommodation out there.

It would be really cool to know someone who wants to go to, as it will be new experience for me and dont want to end up living with a total stranger.

sounds like we r in similar situations! yh i am goin for a hol around the 24th may but then coming bk home n then was thinking bout goin out to work around the 7th july! wud u wana stay on after ur hol or wud u come home 1st? to get accom u just book a weeks holiday sumwhere then go ask round for a job and either the place u get a job will have accom or the ppl tht work there will be able to tell u wheres free but at least u have the week in the hotel as a back up! thats wat iv read anyway lol! yeh i definately want to go but just rly dont want to go on my own n it wud b gd to no some1 so u can look for accom together! whereabouts are u from? do u have facebook or nething?

i had exactly the same idea as you! i wanted to go and work abroad, preferably malia, but also may be doing a cheerleading competition and don't know if it's too late to go out there after that. which competition are you doing? i wanted to go to nationals which is end of july i think. not sure what to do!!!

haha how weird we r both cheerleaders! who do u cheer for? im doing future cheer nationals in brighton on 5th july!? so i think it wud be fine to go out to malia straight after that. the only one i no of at the end of july is the bca comp, is tht the one ur doing? my friend went to malia in 1st wk of aug to work last yr n she got a job fine lol! so never too late! hav u got facebook?

haha! plymouth storm. how about you? yeah we are still at bca...not quite future cheer standards yet! lol. but i might not go to nationals, so the earliest i can go is start of july...so around the same time. yeah i have got fb, kelly grant, im in the west midlands/ uni.plymouth networks

I could be interested in coming. I am a 22 year old kiwi, very laid-back, fun, and love travelling. I was thinking of working in Greece too, i see that most of the jobs come with accommodation but it would be good to go with a few people. Do you know where you want to go? And have you decided when? At the moment i'm working in a hostel as a receptionist and living in Edinburgh but i'd like a change of scenery and to do something different since i'm probably only over here till xmas.

I really want to work in zante this season but I cant go until around 3rd august, I have freinds who have been around this time before and said it was still easy to get a job.

friends all have excuses, boyfriends work etc so at the moment its just an idea, as I dont really want to go out on my own....scary!! Is anyone else thinking of going out around this time and wants to share accomodation??? Please get in touch Smile

Hi, can't help you with your question but was wondering if you could help me? I'm a teacher and really want to get away this summer as I get 7 weeks off. I don't need to work but will if it is a way of making new friends. I'm looking for somewhere to stay that is cheap and someone to hang around with, sunbathe with, drink with etc. All my friends are skint, getting married, going away with patners or have children.

but hopefully going out to malia on 15th july because thats the cheapest i can get accomodation for two weeks by myself before finding somewhere else and a possible job.

im also looking to go out to malia and work for the season, unfortunitly i im doing a air cabin crew course at the minute and dint finish untill 2 week time. i have already booked my holiday out to malia for the 10th july. im going with 5 friends who dont want to stay but i am 100% wanting to stay. it would be brilliant it if could get to know one of you guys and meet you out there. i went to malia last year and it was amazing. so any girls that are traveling out around the same time as me pls let me know i would love to get to know ya n share an appartment. x
