How do you go about getting a city added?
I would like to nominate Aberystwyth in Wales as a featured city. University town, lots going on.... would be active I'm sure.
Thanks |

Equally there's pretty much no representation down the M5 corridor.
I'm based in Worcester, and work in both Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Please Gumtree - how about it, eh? |

Hi there,
Thanks for the input, we regularly listen feedback on this, and then add cities in batches when we have enough nominations, and the city is big enough to support an active gumtree community.
If we were going to do 1 of Cheltenham or Gloucester, which do you think would be better / bigger?
Cheers |

Gloucester's the older and more established city. Both are around the same size, but Cheltenham more rural and as such you may not get the amount of postings.
Gloucester has a thriving new media community due to BBC Gloucester and a good arts centre (not to mention a prestigious college). Cheltenham's got a few hotels and GCHQ, and thats about it!
Gloucester as a gumtree forum, I feel would engage the Worcester sector and Malvern crowd too.
btw: there's a new forum for Worcester but its not that well established. Perhaps the two of you could talk to each other and form a merger?

I heard about Gumtree from my cousin in Australia who told me it was a great way of getting to know people in the area that you are living. But when i logged on, found that my area wasn't include!
It would be great to get Kilkenny City added. At the moment only Dublin and Cork are included on this website for the whole of Ireland. I live a couple of hours away from both. Why does the city have to be big? Kilkenny is a small city but has so much to offer.
Thanks |
