I have nothing against Africians or anyone...
but it seems like all the scams are just flooding out of Nigeria.... It makes me very wary of working or doing business with any Nigerians, if fact I don't trust them when it comes to business or money.
Please sort it out... |

It's crazy the amount of Nigerian scams going on these days....The biggest ones usually involving an e-mail notification of a lottery win, or someone looking to share a 100 gazillion dollars with anyone who can help them transfer the money out of the country. Unfortunately, the bad eggs spoil business for the honest people looking to do legitimate business. The truth is that these Nigerian scammers are usually youths looking to fend for themselves by hook or by crook, usually 18 - 24.
Honest Nigerian business people exist and I can testify to that. I know people who have been importing and exporting before the internet even came to Nigeria, without any hassle and have very good relationships with foreign investors. If you really want to do business with anyone from Nigeria I would advice you not to go online, unless you know specifically who you are looking for. Many true businessmen do not even have time to browse the internet for hours and hours, checking e-mails etc. You will hardly get any honest business person just contact you randomly. I would recommend that you meet the person face to face or get familiar with established Nigerian companies etc. One way to do that is by going to Official websites, or going to the Nigerian Embassy to make enquiries. Some official websites are :
www.nigeria.gov.ng (Information gateway)
www.nairaland.com (Nigerian forums)
www.akwaibomstategov.com (A state in Nigeria)
www.nigeriaworld.com (General)
www.odili.net
www.naijapages.com
www.naijanet.com
Here, you can browse reputable companies/ways to do proper business with Nigerians. Crooks will not/cannot be registered on these sites as there is a level of security which they might find a bit difficult to breach as you will need a registered company etc.
On the same note, I think the Nigerian Government is doing a lot of work in bringing these criminals to justice and they should be given credit for what they have done so far. Thay have recovered millions and restored to their respective owners but I guess you don't get to see that part in the news. (Check : http://www.efccnigeria.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=686&Itemid=2) They have set up a site where you can report fraud/suspected fraud. They have a website : www.efccnigeria.org. Just ask any potential scammer if it's ok to give the EFCC their details and see the response you get. Also, they have gotten Microsoft to team up with them to fight Cybercrime (http://www.efccnigeria.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=960&Itemid=2) So folks, something is being done! Just be wary, and don't fall victim. If you just use a little common sense plus lower you GQ (Greed Quotient) you'll be allright. |

| You guys are 100% right. But lets not be too harsh those Nigerians have got the most immpressive organized mafia in the whole world. At least they are putting organised religion to good use.You can buy just about anything from a Nigerian from drugs to someones mother.Yes they have certainly remodernized the sex slave trade. It makes you wonder why America fought the Civil war all those years ago. What the hell was Abraham Linkon thinking. He oviously was not a Nigerian. |
