Why do you think companies have brand-names?
Nike,Adidas,Puma, are brand-names ...if you don't make these products under license by the above brand-names you are operating an illegal business .

Note to the consumer:
Suggested payment Via Western Union or Money Gram is a red flag regarding any claims of company credibility .

Yeah ?? and I bet you are just the sort of creep who would be scammed and feel too stupid to tell anyone about it .
I have seen plenty of comments like that from Mr Know-it-alls like you who with further investigation are probably sending spam from their PC without knowing they are hacked up to the top of their fat heads.

Hi,

I've included below my recent correspondence with someone regarding renting an apartment in Oxford. Yes, I was naive and stupid to go as far as I did but it's easier than you think when you don't use these websites often or come across these useful forums beforehand. Luckily I pulled the stops in time.

Will
.....

Hi,
My name is Sandra and I have the flat for rent. The rent is 540 £ per month including all bills and the concil tax. I moved in Milan,Italy because I got a new job. I work in a hospital. You can rent the flat as long as you need to stay even for 2 or 3 years. The first payment will be for 2 months 1080 £.In case you want it, let me know so we can arrange the transaction. For me is very hard to come in UK and if I will come i must be 100% sure that I will not come for nothing. As you can see in the photos everything it's new in the flat and the flat is fully furnished and also benefits from wood flooring. You have internet connection, phone, washing machine with dryer, cable TV and most important parking place.

I wait your response.

Respectfully!
Sandra.
…..

Hi Sandra,

That sounds good to me and I would definitely like to move in and I can arrange payment to you shortly. I am a very reliable tenant and I can provide you with references if you need them. Just a couple of things that I would like to know.

1. Is it possible for a friend of mine in Oxford to have a look at the
place before I move in?
2. I am happy to pay 1080 pounds for the first two months, but I would like to have a formal written contract before I pay that amount of money.
3. Is it okay if I move in on Wednesday 22nd April?
4. How much time notice would you need if I wanted to move out?
Hopefully I will be able to stay in your apartment for three years.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Will
…..

Hi,
I work in a hospital and is very hard for me to come in UK. I can't take the risk to leave my new job for days and when I arrive in UK to see that I come for nothing. I want to be 100% sure that when I will meet you, we do the rent papers then i can come back in Italy.
So i can be sure of that look how we can do:
You make the payment from your name and address to your best friend name and address or viceversa in UK using Western Union for 2 months rent that means 1080 £ and send me the scanned receipt. As soon as I see the scanned receipt that you have made the payment, I will come in UK and you will see the flat and rent it. After that, we will go together at the Western Union office and you will take the money back and pay me.So all you have to do is to find a Western Union office and wire 1080 £ from your name to your friend name or viceversa and send the scanned receipt.I am asking you this to be sure that I do not come in UK for nothing. I hope you understand.
P.S : As I told you,I have a lot of customers interested to rent the apartment. I will reserve the apartment to the first one that provides me the scanned paper from Western Union. As soon as I have the confirmation from Western Union that the money are available on his name I stop the transactions with all the other customers!
In case that you don`t know how to use Western Union, all you have to do is to go at the nearest Western Union office in your city and you talk with an agent to send some money to a kinswoman because you will have to pay a small fee. When you will make the transfer you will have to pay a small fee at Western Union which is around 50 £ that I will deduct it from the total rent. The money will stay in the Western Union system till we will sign the rent papers and both we will go to a Western Union office and you will pick up the money and pay me.
If you accept my conditions I wait your e-mail. I don't want you to feel offended if i'll not answer you in case of a negative answer, because I don't see the reason why we should continue to write eachother, since I will not accept any other way to close the deal.

Respectfully!
Sandra.
…..

Hi Sandra,

Okay, I will do this shortly. If I scan you a receipt of the transfer then it would be helpful after this point if you could provide me with some details about where exactly in Jericho the apartment is, what floor, what's included and when you could come over since I arrive in Oxford from Canada on 22nd April and I don't want to have traveled all that way either and have no place to live.

I will be in touch again soon.

Best wishes,

Will
…..

The rent including all bills and the concil tax. This is the address: 56 Walton Street, Oxford, OX2 6AE.

I wait the receipt soon because I have another interested person.

Regards !
…..

Great. I am going to send you the receipt first thing tomorrow and I have found a Great Western near me.

Best wishes,

Will
…..

Ok Will, when I see the receipt I keep the flat for you.

Regards !
…..

Dear Sandra,

Attached is the Western Union receipt. I have deleted the 10 digit security number on this copy of the receipt for security reasons.

Can you confirm that I have your apartment from mid-April?

Many thanks and best wishes,

Will
…..

And how can I check if the money are available. I want the MTCN and after I will check I keep the flat for you. You can check here on Western Union website..:
https://wumt.westernunion.com/asp/orderStatus.asp?country=global

If you don't want please tell me soon because I have another interested person.

I wait your e-mail with the MTCN..
…..

Okay, I will e-mail you the MTCN immediately, but can you first send
me your contact details (e.g. address and telephone number) so that I
know you are 100% who you say you are? Otherwise, I could be giving
out my MTCN to a complete stranger. I'll send you my MTCN as soon as I
hear from you.

Thanks,

Will
…..

Whet?! This is my flat and my terms. I told you, I call you After I will check if the money are available. If you don't want is not a problem, I have another interested person..
…..

I understand and accept that it is your flat and your terms. I also
understand that you want to see the money before you call me. However,
I have no idea who you are if there is a problem with the money - I
only have your e-mail address, whereas you have my work details below
and my home address from the receipt attachment.

I am sorry if you do not want to provide your personal details before
I give you the MTCN, but please understand from my position that it is
dangerous to give this unless I know who the person is. I will happily
call you and give you the MTCN, but if you are not willing to do this
then please contact the other interested person.

Best wishes,

Will

I too have received the same response from Mitchel Crouch. Have been stringing him along for a while now with a number of emails, and finally received his cheque for £3,500. Was interested to see just how much of an overpayment he was going to make. I've now told him I will need to wait 2 weeks for his cheque to fully clear the system [obviously I'm not going to cash it].

Here's our last conversation:

Mitchel,

I don’t expect that you’re fully aware of the banking system in the UK, but it can take around 2 weeks for a cheque to fully clear in the system. Even though the funds initially appear in my account, I’ll need to wait for the cheque to be returned to your branch and fully cleared there before I can make the money transfer. I know you are genuine, but there is a lot of fraud about these days so you can’t be too careful.

Don’t worry though, I will keep the room available for your daughter.

Regards,

Danny, I appreciate your fast response and honesty, you sound like a very good and kind person. You will be sending the excess funds to my traveling agent that will be booking my families trip to the UK because me and my wife will like to come and see where our daughter will be living and also meet you in person. You do not need to worry about picking her from the airport because my traveling agent will get everything arranged for us.

The cheque should clear within 1-3 workings which means funds should be available in your account anytime from Monday or Tuesday at the most. You can as well make a fast clearance on the cheque which will make funds available in your account within 48 hours. As soon as funds are cleared and available in your account I will give you the name and address of my traveling agent whom you will be sending the excess funds to via western union money transfer. When we get to UK I will personally sign any necessary documents for the rent and will also provide you with any other information you may require. Thanks once again for the understanding and kindness.

Best Regards.........

I was interested in "his" motorbike...

Hi,

I'm interested in your motorbike.
I could come to have a look on Tuesday.
Let me know if it's still available and where in London are you.

Thanks

Hello,
First, i would like to thank you for your interest regarding my bike.I will let you know some important things about it. You should know that this is a great bike, very well maintained, always keep in garage, no damage, never involved in any kind of accidents. This is my bike, registered under my name.I have all the documents of the bike, registration, COC and even all revisions bills and service book.I can say about this bike that it looks the same like in the first day when it was out from the factory. I hope you are really interested to buy it, so you can e-mail me soon and discuss anything you want.
Thank you

This already sounded a bit dodgy, because didn't answer any of my questions...
But I replied anyway...

Hello,

It all sounds good.... could you tell me where in London you are located, because I would be interested to have a look at the bike.

Thanks

Hello,
The bike is located in London .if you want buy my bike you must come personal in London . Now i will explain my situation.I had bad experiences with other buyer.somebody from Czech Republic told to me that want to buy my bike.I told him that is Ok,we will meet in London and we will make the deal.I aspect this buyer in London but no buyer, never respond to my emails or to my calls. Now i am little cautions because i have lost my trust in people.I have an idea with this services Western Union which offers me safety that you will come in London to buy my bike.My idea will convince me to keep the bike for you till you will come to London to buy my bike.
My idea: Give ÂŁ1600 (this is my last price) cash to a member of your family and ask that person to go to a Western Union office and send the money to your name, but to UK,London as receiver city. If you make this transfer, i will be sure that you will come to London for your money.we will meet in London and we will finish this deal.you will send me the scanned paper from Western Union and if everything is in order i will erase the bike from internet and i will decline all my clients.i will keep the bike for you till you will come in London .The paper from Western Union will be enough for me to see that you have the money and your interest to buy my bike is real.
After we will meet in London and we will check the bike to mechanic and Police, you will go to Western Union in my town, then pick up the money and give cash to me.i hope that is ok for you and we will finish this deal in good condition.waiting for your answer.
Best Regards,

I received these emails when I put up an ad for a flat. Watch out, don't fall for this Western Union Transfer scam! They use all the information you give them to pick up the money you apparently send to yourself with a fake ID.

A friend of mine fell for it last week and nearly lost £800 (luckily she froze the transfer just in time). This person uses different email addresses but the same mobile (at the moment anyway)

This is the latest email:

Hi,
Let me know when you want to come and view my flat, so that i will plan my time here and make sure am there before you arrive.
The only thing is that i need double assurance, because i want to avoid traveling from Birmingham to london without being sure of your immediate move-in, i can afford my fare, but i can't afford to waste my time.
My Lawyer will get a contract ready for you to sign if you like to take the flat after viewing and the keys will be handed over to you immediately after contract has been signed.
Also, receipt of payment will be issued to you after which you'l have to sign the lease agreement form.
I was discussing with my colleague about the idea on how i will be so sure that i will not just waste my time to london without acheiving my the aim and she advised that we can work out something via Western Union Money transfer.
She said that Western Union can actually hold the money as an evidence and surety that her tenant will pay her at least for the first month and deposit. She gave me an option on what we can do since you have the funds at hand which will be explained below:
PROCEDURE:
1) Transfer the the amount £1600 (1 month rent and security deposit) to you any of your family members (dad, mum or siblings) or friend.
Your name (as sender) to any of them's name (as Receiver) in London or other parts of UK.
2) Scan & Send a copy of the Western Union transaction receipt as a proof of the transaction or mail me the transaction details.. (The money is safe as it is only you that can withdraw since you need a national ID card or International passport)
3) Then, we will meet for viewing.
4) If you decide to take the flat, we will go to any local Western Union office close to my flat pick up the money and pay me. (You don't need to come with cash to view, after viewing we will go together, you will withdraw and pay me)
5) Keys will be handed over to you after signing the contracts.
I am pretty sure that the transaction at Western Union office will require some charges, i will definitely refund the transaction charges back to you upon viewing and if you don't see what i sent as pictures of my flat to you, you are free to leave without paying me anything.
I only want to be sure that i am not going to waste my time this time around and i think with this condition, both of us can be sure we are not wasting our time.
I will only rely on your honesty that you have made the transaction so that i can reserve the flat for you.
Let me know if you are okay with this so that we can proceed. Thanks so much while i will be waiting to read from you and i am looking forward to meet you and be great friends eventually.
NB: PLS DO NOT MAKE PAYMENT TO ME OR IN MY NAME, WHAT I NEED IS JUST AN EVIDENCE THAT YOU HAVE THE CASH TO PAY ONCE YOU HAVE VIEWED.
I am sorry for the lengthy mail, i only want to explain myself better. You can also call or text me on 07588392249 for a chat but i dont receive calls when am at work.
Warm regards and have a nice day.

If you are really tempted by the deal but are not sure if its a scam, send the money to your friend via western union and collect the money before sending proof to any potential scammer.

Hi
My name is Marina and I have the flat for rent. The rent is 775£ per month including all bills and the concil tax. I moved in Dubai because I got a new job. I work in a hospital. You can rent the flat as long as you need to stay even for 2 or 3 years. The first payment will be for 2 months(1500£).In case you want it, let me know so we can arrange the transaction. For me is very hard to come in UK and if I will come i must be 100% sure that I will not come for nothing.
As you can see in the photos everything it's new in the flat and the flat is fully furnished, newly refurbished and also benefits from wood flooring. You have internet connection, phone, washing machine with dryer, cable TV and most important parking place. Please let me know what your intentions are....when you intend to move in?how long you want the contract to last for?how many people would be living in it and some other things you feel i should know.
Get back to me

The deal seemed too good to be true, especially in saying that council tax is included in the rent (no landlord in their right mind would be so generous, especially in London!). Then she/he mentioned Western Union and i did a bit of research and found this forum. Needless to say i'm not going any further, and i would strongly suggest avoiding any kind of deal that involves Western Union or similar companies.

Also, it may be politically incorrect to say that anyone who can't communicate proficiently in English or has a terrible grammar is a scammer, but i'd rather follow that rule than lose £1500!

another fraud from a flat renting response just today.. just thought i would post that here

its from
Elena Sparow elenasparow@yahoo.co.uk
Your Gumtree.com ad #37454685: 3 bedroom flat to rent in Klein Wharf, Islington, N1

My name is Elena and I have the flat for rent.. The rent is 860£ per week including all bills and the council tax. You can rent the flat as long as you need to stay even for 2 years. The first payment will be for 2 months(1720£). In case you want it, let me know so we can arrange the transaction. I need to know that you are 100% interested to rent my flat because i don't like time waster.
As you can see in the photos everything it's new in the flat and the flat is fully furnished, newly refurbished and also benefits from wood flooring. You have internet connection, phone, washing machine with dryer, cable TV and most important parking place. Please let me know what your intentions are....when you intend to move in? Get back to me.

and the following reply after we told 'HIM' (or its a her.. as this Elena has a wife) that 860 per week is too expensive and we are not interested in paying before seeing the flat.

The 860 pounds is the rent for 1 month
I am glad that you are interested to rent the flat. As you can see in the photos the flat is fully furnished. The rental cost per week include all the bills and council tax. I moved at my wife place in Plymouth because i was transferred with my job at the
Plymouth Nuffield Hospital(i am a surgeon). Before i do flat reservation for you i need to be sure that you are 100% interested to rent it. I don't want to make the trip again and maybe never meet you. I don't like the time wasters. I had a bad experience last week with a person from Paris that make me sign the rent papers on his name and when i arrived in London, i never meet him. Now i want a warranty that you have the money and also that you are interested to rent it.
I don't want any money before you see the flat. You will pay me only after we do the rent documents. If you agree send me your name so i can write it on the tenancy agreement. I will send you a copy be email or by fax so you can see that i decided to rent it to you.
Waiting your response and i hope you are a serious person.

I almost got caught with this exact same scan. I can't believe I almost fell for it. The only reason I checked up was because I called the given phone number and couldn't get through, I then googled the phone number and it brought me straight to this forum.
I'm so glad I didn't go through with this!!! This needs to have a stop put to it!
