Ebay try to force all buyers and sellers to use paypal, this wasnt always the case some years ago people had a choice where non-paypal was an option, this is because they make more money, paypal 'thinks' it is a bank, its NOT, its not regulated the same way a bank is and there is NO proper protection if you sell something, any ebay opportunist can claim that the item was never received along with other scams like returning different damaged items. Its a no brainer that recently ebay laid off 1000 jobs, its a sign that more and more people cannot trust ebay- its not a question of IF but WHEN ebay go bust, hopefully the message will get out to more people.
Ebay is becoming more and more used to selling COUNTERFEIT items, fake designer goods, and fake health supplements like fake vitamins, its best to stick to reputable sites & credit card or even CASH via Gumtree or Loot, if a seller accepts either your safe - if not your screwed. |

gumtree is meant for face to face trading and that usually entails cash
ive used paypal for ebay stuff for 7 years and use it to transfermoney and never had a problem.
the only problems ive seen is when buyers want you to use paypal and send fake paypal emails |

| ebay and paypal no longer care about sellers, the buyers have all the power, i sold a japanese binary watch on ebay no that long ago, the buyer decided it was too tech for him and decided to report it to paypal as being badly scratched on the face and bracelet (when in fact it was in a1 condition), and paypal being prats they are took him at his word, waited the 10 days then refunded the buyer BEFORE he had returned the watch to me, after many emails pointing out that they had acted wrongly as i hadnt received the watch back they still upheld his case and i lost the watch and the money from the sale, since then i have gave up using ebay and paypal, paypal have no interest in sellers, so i agree dont use it, |

| ebay and paypal are partners ...i have used paypal for a lot of payments, transfers, and purchases for over 8 years never had a problem with paypal,in fact paypal protected me from dodgy sellers on ebay and refunded money when an item was supposed to have been delivered to me but went to another destination. i recommend paypal totally.but ebay sometimes has let me down.gumtree i suppose is trying to be the equivalent to craigslist in the usa and i hope it does become like it.people try and scam everywhere on internet so be warned...deal locally or if you can't personally inspect merchandise maybe you know someone who can, never go to buy something with cash and use common sense...be safe.. and have fun buying and selling...and if someone asked me to pay with paypal i gladly would and vice a versa |
