Why doesn't my ad appear when I search?

Hi,

I have posted an ad in the Jobs Wanted section but if I do a search for it at the top level of Gumtree (at the home page) it doesn't appear in the results. Why is that?

They seem to take extra care with homepage ads, my guess is that they're probably waiting to approve your ad. It'll probably be up there tomorrow morning.

Then again, I just saw it had 26 views. So I'm guessing it's up!

MPD is not alone . i look for my ads in the flat share offerd and they are never there. But i still get the odd caller. When i use the search engine my ads are always shown as as being published - but not in sequence on the regular ad page. There is no doubt my ads are not running. what's going on ?

I'm the same, I had confirmation that mine had been posted and ten hours later it's gone!!! Cant find it anywhere. No explanations or anything.

Makes me wonder if it's worth using this site at all.
