Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a good builder for doing a loft extension (house is in the Wandsworth area)? I've got someone doing drawings for the builders to quote against and found one through a friend, but I'd like to get 2 or 3 to make sure we get a good quality / price. Looking for someone fairly local who is reliable, won't subcontract to idiots, will take responsibility for the job etc

Have heard bad things about loft companies so not interested in them!

this one i knew, his team does all kind of building, really good price he gave me, and finished the work in time, clean and reliable, and did the removals too, and gave a good advice on materials so i saved alot on my conversion, i am not sure where he works though i believe he moves all around london, anyway, it would cost you nothing to give him a call, 07886535484

You've probably gone ahead by now. But we had a used a company called Doran Bros (London) Ltd - 020 8682 1021, based in SW17. Did a brilliant job for the price they quoted even though they did loads of extras they didn't charge for it. Also, most importantly to me - they were the cleanest builders I've ever come across. There was very very little mess. DON'T USE FERNSIDE- nightmare company two of my neighbours used them.
