| a cheaper option than driving is a 30 day greyhound pass at $399 which is about £250. go on the website for more details. you can travel round taking 14 stops i think..... |

I'm from the states and highly recommend going the car hire route and roadtripping around for a month at least. (I've done a loop of the country in 4 weeks before)
I'd also recommend using holidayautos.com - when I go back to the US I've rented using them loads of times as they have always given far cheaper rates than anywhere else.
Best thing to do is get a cheap flight to Washington Dulles (IAD), or Newark (EWR) as these are usually the cheapest airports to fly into - you don't want to fly into JFK!!!!
Pick up a car, get a map of the US, and just go for it. You don't have to worry about booking hotels ahead of time - they are everywhere along the highways and there is never a shortage of rooms. Its very easy!! Have a few places you really must see on the list, and work around that. The best thing to do is find all the little quirky things along the way. |

Hi
Have any of you been or booked a trip to America yet? I'm Michelle and 26. I'm sick of the UK and would really like to do some travelling in USA, hopefully get a job offer and make a permanent move over there eventually.
Anyone else fancy that?
Give me a shout x |
