First, when I place an ad it doesn't show up, I don't get any messages saying it has been removed or reported, there's no web link in it, nothing I can see that shouldn't be there.
Secondly, when I try to reply to someone else's advert although the site says the massage has been sent I have never had a reply back even though I've replied to 25 or 30 ads recently, not even a reply to say no thanks, I find this unusual and it feels like my messages may not be getting sent. I've tried sending messagaes with and without weblinks in, it makes no difference.

| Hi EMHS, you really need to contact Gumtree if your ad still isn't live. If you navigate through the help page you can find a link to contact them. There could be some ISP related issue or something. |

I have had the same problem. I email people without any replies and so am starting to assume that they arent getting my email.
EMHS - have you been able to find out whats going on? |

Hey livinginlondon1 and EMHS. The emailing system seems to be working fine here. I will send a request to the technical guys to double check though. Chances are, the people just aren't replying. Ads on Gumtree generally get a large response so it can be a lot of work to reply to everyone.
Give me the reference number of your ads that didn't show and I will escalate with support |

Hmm....Same thing happened to me, I replied to several car ads a couple of weeks ago & not one reply, these cars were being relisted so obviously were not sold. I did find it a bit beyond belief that nobody would reply to a potential buyer. |

Honestly, I can't tell you the number of times I've submitted ads to this site only for them not to appear !!!! 
I've also responded to ads and got absolutely no response. Zilch.
Can the mods PLEASE get this sorted!!!! Or at least devise some sort of auto responder with reasons why ads aren't being displayed and emails not being forwarded.
My last ad that didn't appear was for my ironing service - how innocuous can you get???? |

| What ads are you replying to? dating/casual relationships? If so you wont get many replies because about 80% are fake, and the 20% real ones get so many replies they wont take a second look at most of them. |

My replies were to accommodations ads. Its quite frustrating to think that they do not receive it after writing a response to their ad.
Does gumtree scan phone numbers and emails, when people reply through the 'click here to reply to ad', cos i read somewhere that they do, and can block people from emailing others. |

Please let me know the ad URLs or reference and I will check it out but we've had no mailing problems. |

I'v now tried contacting this seller from 2 different email addresses on 2 different computers, now I realise the car could be sold but most decent folk would at least reply saying so.
Still awaiting reply to previous post, I see admin were on here today but clearly missed it!  |

Hey yeah sorry, I'm not in the office today so can't get onto the system to check up on your complaint. I have got it down to check it tomorrow although it seems like you have resolved the situation. Do you still need me to follow up?
Sometimes people just don't reply to ads. As someone who also buys things on Gumtree I know how frustrating it can be but I'm afraid that kind of thing is not ours to control! |

| No, I have not resolved anything, it does seem strange that I have received no replies whatsoever to at least 6 emails sent to sellers. I thought it was my bad luck until I read about others having similar problems & as said, some of these vehicles have been posted again so clearly weren't sold! |

I can't as I deleted the confirmation email from Gumtree in frustration!!! (This has happened to me on several occasions!) |

I'm having a similar problem to those detailed above.
I've responded to a few ads over the past 2 days (accommodation and computers for sale amongst others) and received no replies. While I understand that sellers may get many replies, I can't believe I haven't had a single response.
To test this, I replied to an ad that I myself had posted this morning. It's been 30 minutes, and my reply hasn't arrived, so something is certainly wrong.
Is it my IP address that's been blocked and preventing me from responding, because I've replied to too many ads? If that's the case, that sucks! I understand the need to attempt to block spammers, but it also seems to be preventing normal folks too... |
