What is the monthly cost of electricity for a studio apartment in London, where the heating and cooking is electric and not gas?

Many studio apartments don't use gas for anything (I think it is a safety regulation), hence I was wondering what the cost of electricity would be.

Whilst I know it would vary depending on the apartment and how well insulated it is, but I'm just after a ballpark figure.

I would appreciate anybody's advice! Thanks in advance.

Mine is about £40 per month (paid quarterly)

I use the oven and hob on a daily basis but rarely the heating (and turn elecs off from wall socket before leaving. Lappys, stereo, etc, etc, are from the same extension cord and I don't believe in stand-by mode)

I'm pretty sure thought that my cooker is an electricity hog. It's an olde piece of junk that belongs to a museum or third world country

Thanks for the information Elina, it's about what I expected. Good idea about turning things off at the contact too!

Hello,

Mine is EDN pay-as-you-go meter, and I use about £10 electricity a fortnight at the most. I have a hob, my water is powered by electric, I have cable and broadband, but like above, just make sure everything's off at the wall when I'm not using it. Be thrifty! Smile
