The scam pet adds has been going on 3 years and nothing has been done , are you sure they are bright developers ??? Maybe they are sly rogues that sit around all day playing pacman rather than working . My 1st suggesting would be putting spyware into their pcs so you can check what they are actually doing 
In the 3 years of the pet sam adds gumtree are yet to implement anything to stop it , right ? . That makes it hard for a person to beleive that anything will ever get done . Im starting to think gumtree are less about solving problems and more about placing their heads in the sand and praying no one notices .
I suggested on a blog that all non uk ips are prevented from posting on the site as this is a face to face trade site and there is no need to be accepting adds posted from outside the Uk ie scammer adds . That should of been done 3 years ago , yes scammers can use ip masks etc but not everyone of them would know that , it would help cut down on scammer adds being posted and thus help stop gumtree users being ripped off . |

There is an IP block on certain countries so the scammers getting through know how to mask IPs. The ones that get through to Gumtree are more advanced than you think. There are also locally based scammers.
We've been fighting this battle with the scammers for more than 3 years so we need to constantly upgrade the technology as they get smarter. Trust me when I say 95% of scams don't make it through to the site.
We do have some exciting solutions coming up which we will hope kill this once and for all! |

I like it added to the top of the page , it is a good addition and should help alot *thumbs up*.
Have any new features been added today ? i just checked Belfast and Norwich pets and saw no scam adds , so i went to London gumtree and saw none there either (London is usually flooded with 100s a day) .
Im guessing either gumtree has put into place some new features or that Cameroon has had a nationwide power cut  . Hmmmmmm maybe a possible power cut is gumtrees way of killing off the scammers ? I like it !! haha  I must now be careful though as to silence me gumtree may try to cut Norfolks power supply  . *bows down* to Jon , please dont cut my power sir . |

Yeah we're testing out some things but might not work for all cases.
For example: We haven't figured out how to cut the power in some parts of Nigeria but we can certainly get to Norfolk. Or I can just send Monty easier instructions for his saw |

I suggest rather than target Norfolk these Developers need to get back to pacman , the sods !!!
I fear Montys saw adventures will end up in a hospital trip , i just pray that gumtree does not upgrade his saw to a chain saw !!! That would have disaster written all over it |
