Hi, I have just moved to Edinburgh and I am looking for a good takeaway in Leith area? Can anyone recommend one? So far I found Eatalia's and Silver bowl where you can order online on Yhum.com the takeaway directory. Was great!!!I love online ordering. Anyone know any other good places?

Hey mate,
I live in Leith and I would recommend - 'Wangs' on Great Junction - left at the bottom or Leith Walk - it's really good Chinese, good value and free prawn crackers. |

Thanks for the response will give all these a try. Unfortunately don't think you can order online with these places, guess I will have to go back to old fashioned telephone. Online really is the way of the future! Had another successful order online with the Yhum site and chose Eatalia's again at the weekend!
I am devoting my life here in Edinburgh to promote online ordering...why are the Edinburgh takeaways so far behind with the times.
Again any tips, please do share them with me |

Hello
Yeah, I'm looking for good takeaway too. Also used Yhum for online ordering, like most students. Only thing is that online ordering is only in Leith at present. Think this is the main directory in Edinburgh, although I think Yellow Pages might bring out a book soon.
Eatalia's pizza rocks!
There is also a nice kebab shop at the top of Leith walk. Forget what its called. |

Thanks for the tip Nadja!
Went all Indian this week, ordered online from Bombay Spice! Best and cheapest Indian by far! Very friendly service! Try this.
Help! I've got to stop my addiction of ordering via the web. It's just too easy. |

Hi people
Yes heard about this Yhum.com thing, got one of the booklets through the door this morn.
Sounds like a good idea, I do most things online and tonight I will be an online takeaway man......anyone care to join me? Have decided either to order Bombay Spice or Eatalia's. Will send my verdict soon.
hit me back.... |

Yes heard about this site too, however wasn't sure if they were still trading as the website never changes? I'll stick with yhum.com for the moment as these guys seem to have cornered the market with the online takeaway business. Thanks for the tip anyway!
P.s Bombay spice is the cheapest and best value takeaway at the moment. That's a fact! We'll have to online order together sometime?? Your place or mine? |

I would def recommend INSPIRATION ORIENTAL RESTAURANT in Commercial Street.
It does the best duck & curry ever.

I actually walked all the way from the Omni Centre roundabout beside the Playhouse, right down to the bottom of Leith Walk yesterday (thought it would take 5 mins, erm more like 25 - that is one long road!
Soooo, I was noticing all the Chinese Takeaway/Restaurants on the way down on the right hand side of the road, and I kid you not I honestly lost count of them. There must have been 7-8 at least - just on that one stretch of road. In addition there are even 2 Chinese Supermarkets!
Someone said Wong's was good, have tried there once and can vouch for that, and I found it fairly cheap for Edi city centre food. |

I would not recommend the Ricebox. A portion of their fried rice is usually very uncooked looking, and sometimes they do it in such a hurry, that it doesn't turn out right.
Some of their meals are pricey, but if you're ever near Easter Road, don't fret over it. Give them a try. Just take from me, that they could be better... |

I miss Eatalias! Try Mumtaz Mahal further up Leith Walk too. Their Vegetable Parathas are the BEST! |
