done over 30 today just got this email

No, Im sorry to say he wont stop this number and more of the 070 numbers are persistant offenders they often put different names with the number but it is always 070. I clled ome to tell them I lnew they were a scam and hewas not very graciouse about being caught out

Scammers think they are cleaver they have started giving maps with the ads but when you see several diffrent ads for different dogs at same place you know thay are scamming

Gumtree you must look at the ads before they go live because loads of ads for diffrent breeds are from the same map ref not to mention yet again the 070 phone numbers are all scams too.

Kill those ads before they go live and you have more tan halved the scams.

3 adds were posted yesterday in Norwich gumtree for staffs that are at risk of being put down if that done find new homes , hence why im trying to keep all the scam adds off Norwich this weekend so as many people as possible check those Staff adds and hopefully offer them a home . If we can get those above 4 scam adds removed as quick as possible please Smile

As you can tell by my site id i own a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and sadly they are massively over breed and huge numbers of them get put down every year (put down not because they are old , ill or problem dogs but put down because they struggle to get rehommed), so when i saw 3 adds for staffs from a rescue center needing homes or they would be put down i felt it was vital to make sure no scammer adds were on Norwich today/yesterday so those 3 adds got lots of attention .

I do not seem to have the same problem as the other posters - all the pet scams I report are removed the minute I report them - when I return to the listing they are gone. Also, all the ones I reported this morning are still gone - I have never known any I report returning.
I always report them as illegal, and always give the reasons why they are scams - and that is not the same as just not liking the look of them - it is a proper reason.

Could Gumtree staff check the add on this site , remove the link from this post once you have looked ..

On every add that site posts the following text which is bold and highlighted in yellow , it catches the attention and can not be missed .. This is a great idea and a easy way to help kill off scammers .

"Security tip to avoid scam and fraud:
make sure you have contacted the seller face-to-face or atleast on a valid phone number and the seller is not demanding the money through Western Union, Moneygram or any such mean."

Such a easy way to stop what has been going on for 3 years on this site and im guessing it would be very easy to do !!

a more obvious tell-tale that this is a scam, for anyone seriously interested in Bulldogs, is that the parents only weigh 5lbs! John Bull would be turning in his grave!!

I wonder how many people got scammed by these adds yesterday simply because gumtree did not bother to pull them down .

The adds reported Friday ... still sit on the site live .

Adds reported today are not being removed .

The lies from gumtree staff about "new features" that will end scammer adds are bad enough , but this new gumtree attitude of just leaving adds live that they know are posted by African scammers that are posting fake adds to steal from gumtree users is beyond the joke .

It has been going on 3 years , gumtree have lied and done nothing ... wake up and ruddy deal with it . I have never in my life seen a company sit back and allow people to steal from its customers .... it is disgusting .

Just walked my dog ... a 30 minute task . Upon my return i see a huge flood a scam adds all live .

I have spent hour after hour since Febuary reporting scam adds to try and protect people ... it is a shame gumtree does not give a fuck if people get scammed and carry on posting adds they know are scams .

I will not be reporting anymore adds , gumtree can go fuck themselves . Every person that has been scammed on this site is not a victim of scammers , gumtree could very easily sort that ... but do not bother , people that have lost money you are sadly victims of gumtree .

3 years of Africans using this site for fraud have gone on ... gumtree have done fuck all to stop it and tell lie after lie to cover it up .

Gumtree , go get fucked .
