why on sundays is it so slow for ad's to go live?

weekdays and saturdays ad's go live nearly straight away.. but every sunday you place an ad in the morning and then wait, wait, wait and wait and if you are lucky it might go live by the evening.. Not really good if you are placing ad's in the social or dating section.. but any area really.

In the Edinburgh page no ad has gone live in the social area since saturday.. this is the story Every Sunday..

I work in IT so please dont give the old flannel it's my server, computer etc.. If you are having problems then it would be helpful and a little professional (a lot to ask from gumtree i know..) to let us users know..

It's ironic because you'd expect Sunday to be your busiest day for ads. Gumtree seem to have no clue how to run their site efficiently.

if the sysetem is down you would think some indication would be helpful so you dont waste time placing ad's..

Gumtree does need a kick up the **** has not a professional person working for them.. well not in IT anyway. my 12 year old nephew could run a website better.. some community site no1, yeh no 1 in what?

It is a bit of a joke, I use gumtree a lot and have noticed the degradation of weekend service. It has taken nearly 24 hours to get my ads online, a service update - like a DEFCON would be a good idea.

We are at DEFCON 5: All is good! Ads will go live in seconds and you can sleep soundly in you beds!

but more like....

We are at DEFCON 1: all is bad! Someone forgot to wind up the clockwork server and we are all doomed!

But just a reply would be nice, saying something like "You ain't got no problem, Jules. I'm on the case. Go back in there, chill out and wait for the Wolf, who should be coming directly!"

I dont think Gumtree no the word Customer Satisfaction or even Customer Service and Care..

Perhaps on sunday they are all surfing the net looking for a more rewarding Job..

The IT guys should be looking for a change of career at least..

I remember when Gumtree had values, worked well and was a welcome breath of fresh air.. now it's more like holding your breath and crossing your fingers in the hope you are ad will go live at all..

I am sure they must be breaking some advertising law saying they are the number 1 community site.. Question " what community?" oh of course London!!!

Really? You never even checked then that's basically what you're saying. Look at the ads the most recent ones are 10 hours old, it's not rocket science.

All the casual relationship section in Edinburgh appear to have recent postings when I view them, which section is showing stale information for you?

When the ads do go live they have the time they were originally posted beside them, ie- 2 hours ago, 3 hours ago...etc!

Dudes, if you just answer the questions #dave is asking, then he can check on the issues. The site is massive so you need to be more specific for him to help you, even if to you it sounds like a petty request. He is too busy to ask time wasting questions so any questions he asks are for a good reason.

You moan when the sites not working, you moan when the site is working?! I'm not sure what it is we can do to satisfy your request.

Perhaps your ads are being removed because they are against terms? We don't go around removing ads for fun

Reasonably confident this won't happen this Sunday but if it does please update the thread with examples.

Thx

Perhaps one of you guys could look at 'Cars for sale' in Edinburgh or Glasgow tomorrow morning & you'll see if the problem persists.......you've had a weeks notice, so surely someone from Gumtree can actually check for themselves!

we will be looking tomorrow however there are 7,000 categories on Gumtree, we can't check them all (easily) so any help tracking down brocken categories would be fantastic.
