I got my first au pair from an agency, and sadly it hasnt' worked out. She wasn't comfortable and didn't gel in our home after only 2 days!! Despite me giving her virtually nothing to do and being kind to her.

My son is 6 years old, and I may be leaving my house around 7.15 am so need someone to get him ready and take him to school and pick him after school and stay with him until 5.30/6.00pm.

Would a nanny be better? Do nannies have their own car? Or are nannies better for younger ones? Are nannies or home help english speaking??

Or should I give the agency another go for another au pair??

Any of your experiences would be great.
