Hello ALL!
I'm a mother of four, (two of whom have left home!) currently homeschooling our two younger children, 9 and 12 (girl and boy, respectively).
BOTH are huge fans of music, from ALL walks of life, TRULY!! (from classic FM through to ALL manner of rock music, AND tunes from musicals and NUMEROUS pop songs!!)
As a homeschooling family, we (like many others!) have music tutors come to the house for the 'instrument' lessons, (guitar and violin) and both children also play the piano, one as a main instrument, the other as a third (after guitar and violin), both play the recorder, one more actively than the other, the 'other' being keener on the harmonica, and they both ABSOLUTELY LOVE to sing, LOTS, so a GOOD 'mix' of music fills our home for large parts of the day!
I'm a soprano (classical singer) not currently involved in ANY music project (child OR adult!) but I've previously taught music (predominantly classical) and music theory to children (AND a few adults!)
Finally, I'm married to a contemporary musician, singer/songwriter with a lovely tenor voice!

So what I'm really asking is...
"IS there ANY interest in assisting in the initial 'organisation of', or, once 'organised', the JOINING of, a 'young(er) persons choir?
Whether this be in the style of a 'pop group' or a young person's choral society (parents welcome!) for children depends on interest!
Whether MUSICAL in VOICE or instrument (and perhaps later, children who DON'T have current musical ability/experience but who have a passion for music and would like to become involved), whether your children are homeschooled and therefore don't have the opportunity to attend choir or NOT homeschooled but would like to devote more of their extra curricular time to music, PLEASE let me know?"
Obviously, depending on whether there IS interest and, seeing from where that interest predominantly comes (homeschoolers or not, all are welcome) will help ENORMOUSLY in the ultimate 'decision' making process...with the wheres, whens, hows and how manys!!
ALL advice regarding this 'venture' AND 'your feelings about the starting of a children's music group' would be VERY gratefully received;
MANY thanks for reading and THANK you in advance for any suggestions (polite ones please!)
Warmest thoughts,
Angel
