I recently paced an ad for a media player/recorder and received an email from someone supposed to be interested, i asked where he was from and this is the reply.
Thanks for your returning my mail, i am getting this item for a colleague in
Walthamtow via Royal Mail International
Singed For, Although i' m suppose to come to pick the item there myself
but its will look more special having it direct as a gift and cause of
my absent in town now, going for a complete project in Austria, you
know what that means, i need a well seal packed for it,
More so
i like to know the present condition of the item also, i will really
appreciate if you can kindly post the item asap, which i will be
offering you the sum of £40 for postage and packaging of the items to
Walthamstow.
I would be glad and sincerely wish to make the payment through Verified Pay pal
or Bank Money Transfer
cause i believe its safe for both of us and so if you re really
interesting in selling out the item to me, kindly get back to me with
your Pay Pal Email and your Full Name when registering for the Pay Pal together
with the cost of the item and the postage fee £40, cause i wouldn't want any
mistake in this transaction.
I await your quick response and don't forget to send me along your phone # as
well.
Thanks
From: Mike Collins <mikcolins16@yahoo.com>
Needless to say i was not fooled by this idiot (nigerian probably)
just thought i'd let you know in case you get an email from him. |

I got a very similar email. He's now calling himself Daniel Webb (danielweb67@yahoo.com).
I replied saying that I accept cash only, funnily enough I haven't had a reply. |

I had about 10 of these scamming emails when I used the FS Forum for the first and last time. Hell this is worse than feeBay for scammers.
Why don't we collect these scammers emails and have a thread just for them, or even better, ban them from replying to ads? |

| These people are getting worse for it, if you turn and say 'yes I accept PayPal' they'll send you a fake PayPal payment, then within less than a day another one saying you should have shipped item and PayPal not release money into account till you do, blah blah blah |

Ebay is full of Scammers/Thieves.
Paypal is used by Scammers/Thieves.
Gumtree is full of Scammers/Thieves.
Common factor in all of this is eBay, they own Paypal and Gumtree and they are all targeted/used by:- Scammers/Thieves. |

common factor is people who think they can get something for nothing,
gumtree craigslist et all get targetted because they offer free advertising |
