Something I'm getting really tired of and my patience has run out so thought I'd seek out your views.

The same old ads directing to dating sites and other websites are getting through again and again and again on bristol casuals section, over and over, clogging up the ads section.

There is no attempt at difference they even use the same heading such as 'come to my ample bosom' etc, which is ridiculous. I've spent ages bringing these ads to gumtree guys attention, often it takes hours to get them noticed, but then they go up again almost within minutes.

I appreciate the work you guys do, but there must be something wrong if these ads can't be identified somehow so that they don't make it regularly up. It would not be too bad but there are seriously scores being posted every single day, leading to an auto response to another website, but more seriously they are pushing the genuine ads further down the line.

I can't help feeling that gumtree benefits from this in some way as we need to pay to get our ads bumped up; seriously, if we post an ad at, say 9am, its already 5 pages down by the early evening, by which time genuine people will think that ad is dated and we can't bump it up!

the only solution is to post fresh ads to get them at the top and alert others we are still looking, but that, in turn, simply adds to the number of ads.

I know these people are determined and spend hours and hours at it, but I'm beginning to feel it's time to tighten up things a bit somewhere and somehow.

In addition, your code words must have been sussed ages ago because it doesn't have to be accurately filled in!

Heck I'd even be willing to volunteer my time to monitor this more effectively! The Edinburgh section was far more easier.

Can I make at least one suggestion that surely can't be difficult to change? Can we have a split section for guys seeking girls and girls seeking guys? The amount of ads that are going up each day already fully justifies it. That way at least we can totally ignore the girls seeking guys section, which are rarely filled by genuine women anyway! It won't of course, stop the scammers, but it will certainly limit their effectiveness.
