| When will gumtree stop the guy selling illegal cable boxes in the edinburgh section????....His posts are always in there...no matter how many times their reported??...He buys them use'n gumtree...Chips them ...And sells them on gumtree....Why cant gumtree deal with him????????????? |

Below is the posts that were put on and are on today and are still live...5 in edinburgh general...4 in edinburgh tv....I deleted another six by reporting them..there was also 2 threatening ones...One saying try to keep up with him later on today...Meaning he was gonna flood edinburgh tv / general with his illegal cable boxes....He's running amok in gumtree an he's getting away with it

cos gumtree is huge
and the wee section you are reporting on is a teensie little bit of the empire
and they only have a certain number of staff
and possibly it isnt that high on the priority list
could be loads of other stuff too. |

| thanks jon....well...he's not that clever....he advertised a fiat punto using the same phone number back in june....with pictures/registration....been reported to lothian an borders police...virgin fraud department...edinburgh trading standards...an all the info has been passed on...an i take offence to monty saying edinburgh is a teensie weensie part of the what ever.....surely someone committing a crime anywhere on your site is a priority...no matter where there are...or how teensie weensie they think it is |

bobby sorry if i have given offence,
but the section you are talking about is a wee tiny bit of the overall gumtree forums
it depends if you feel gumtree should police the site as well as providing mostly free ads and if so where is the money to do it going to come from?
what about all the pet scams/ phone scams job and accomodations scams where are the people going to come from? |

| i agree with you monty....but the solution is simple.....get more people to police the site to get rid of all this stuff..the criminals/scammers/spammers/chancers....you dont have to pay people..lots of gumtree genuine people would gladly do it for free.....get the site back to where it used to be...a good site....the reason its failing so bad is nothings done quick enough......surely there should be someone inspecting the reported ads quicker |
