I got my mate Jo Butcher to do an animated video about the forum and how to interact with it. Of course I wrote the script so its got a lot fluffy, happy stuff with no trolling and all that. Hopefully, it will be a more friendly welcome to the noobs when we put it on the front page than you scary lot!

I think putting a video up is meant to welcome feedback so I'll give mine 
It's a great idea but I can't help thinking it's a tad childish and patronising 
Of course, it's already been done now but they are my thoughts! |

I think the Vid is OK
Seems to explain everything in a way that educates, but without finger wagging about what NOT to do.
I'd say 7 or 8 out of 10!

Rediculous, patronising crap. Some people just have too much time on their hands.
Oh I mean "thank you for these pearls of wisdom, oh great Jon. We've only been using them on the web for the past 20 years or so, but if YOU say it it must be so because if we don't browen-nose you the entire thread gets deleted and we all get banned. Except for the ladies. Funny that, isn't it?"

Wow that's a very angry response to a video! It's meant to be aimed at people that have never used a forum / the Gumtree forum (and much more people haven't than have) before and also at people wanting to come on with the wrong intentions like advertising. So its actually an idea to protect this community and improve it. Sorry it doesn't meet your approval |

I honestly thought it was just OK - like anything else, you can take from it what you want, and ignore what you already know!
If you had used a more authoritarian style using words like RULES. YOU MUST do this, and MUST NOT do this - there'd be a lot more feedback!
If you'd aimed to be more silly, the point might have been missed.
It just reminded me of the videos I see on flights now about safety, "fasten seatbelt like this" "lifejackets are under your seat etc."
Everyone seems to having a pop at mods & admin lately.
