Hey

I have been a user of the gumtree for years and years and i understand like bebo and facebook you are constantly looking at ways to make the site better!

However i am currently looking for work and use the gumtree to do this therefore i have applied for so many jobs.....its hard to keep track! So having the date ie Wednesday 13th May makes this easier for me as it allows me to look at that date with the new jobs listed and apply for positions that meet my skills and experience.

I am surprised if not confused that you guys have taken the date away.....now it just looks jumbled and i dont know what i have appied for or not applied for????? Nor which jobs are new or old!!!!!!

I know it seems like a stupid thing but its very important as a user for the reasons i have stated as now it just looks un-organised and is more time consuming for me as a user.

Im baffled that the date has been taken away as i have no idear how exactly this improves the site?

Gumtree is a great site but it needs to be simple to use and if you were to return the date i believe it would improve the site back to the origional standards you initially had!!!!

I am using the Edinburgh site to look for jobs and I agree, the new layout is terrible. I liked it when the jobs were sorted under date headings and when you had clicked a hyperlink it went paler, now they just stay the same colour. It is not just the jobs section that is effected either. Is it possible to change it back.

WELL FIRST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE YOU TO KNOW THAT PEOPLE LOOK FOR DIFFERENT OPTIONS WHEN THEY DON'T GET NO JOY OUT OF SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY SHOULD I-E GUMTREE ADMIN TEAM, SO IF SOMEONE COME UP WITH AN IDEA OF DOING GUMTREE TEAM'S JOB ATLEAST WE CAN TRY. I HAVE BEEN USING GUMTREE FOR LAST 3 OR 4 YEARS IT HAS BEEN GONE DOWN LIKE LABOUR IN THIS COUNTRY. I POST ADS AND THEY WOULD NEVER APPEAR, I REPORT ADS THEY DON'T GET DELETED I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SOME PEOPLE GET AWAY WITH PUTTING WRONG, FRAUDLANT AND REPEATED ADS EVERY DAY AND SOMEONE LIKE ME TRY TO PUT AN AD IN RIGHT CATAGORY, RIGHT PLACE IT NEVER APPEARS. WELL IF YOU STILL DON'T BELIEVE ME THEN PLEASE SEARCH ALL THE FORUMS FOR GUM TREE'S REPUTATION, WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING, BELIEVE ME I WOULD BE SURPRISE IF 90 TO 95% ARE NOT COMPLAINING HOW THIER ADS GET DELETED OR NEVER APPEARS. You need to update your board software to block the mountains of spammers who regularly flood your forums with all manner of malware links and junk.

Why are all the items for Household and furniture lumped together? It takes incredibly long to view a single day's listings - can be 10 pages long. At least put garden/outdoor into its own section. Or how about beds or sofas in a separate category? I don't use the website as often as I wish because of the time it takes to view items in this section.

I like the new page to upload an add, (this is Reading UK section) however there is a HUGE bug...

When ever i press "enter" it then submits the page, this sounds fine you think, however 95% of that page is in my browser cache (in firefox under "remember what i enter in forms and browser bar") this means as i type my phone number it shows up, to select this i highlight and press "enter", but instead of the browser filling the form, it submits the page, resulting in "page not complete, cant submit the advert" instead of just fiilling that field in.

RESULT Here is i have to enter ALL my details over again for EVERY advert, not making me want to use this really, esp when the browser is supposed to make it easier but i cant use that feature is your form is pulling an "enter" as submit.

No other site i have been on does this, need to look at this lads.

Hi, I am looking at a 2 bedroom house or flat and when I select "2+ bedrooms" everything comes up anyway... 1 to 6 bedrooms...

I reckon it would be useful to make advertisers fill out boxes or tick boxes so the search is more relevant straight away...

It seems that some advertisers can not make the difference between renting a room in a house to share and rent a house...

Also the rent should be indicated per month and per week... (in 9 yrs of renting I've never had to pay a weekly rent).

And the area should be a compulsory indication in the title. Some adverts for flats don't have any indication at all of where they are... which does not make the search easy when you live in a big city.

When searching for a flat a customised "look" would help the viewers.

Well, I could carry on forever on things to improve and although Gumtree got better looks it lost a lot of its practicality and relevant searches (type "fridge" in the search box and you'll have 2 pages of "flats to rent" results before actually finding an ad for a fridge!)

What does it mean and how do I set it up on my computer.

I am in Edinburgh and the dating selection has been changed which makes it harder to find a match..

jester...responding to people reporting adds would be a great start...i constantly report adds on the dundee one..they are spam/illegal/porno...but nothing it ever done about them...they are always there hours later...even days later...whats the point in having a report add bit......i thought adds were checked before going live...this cant be happening as the adds would'nt get through...i think you need more moderators in each town...ones that are fair and know the rules..if you sorted out the bad adds...this site would be excellent...you only gotta look at the forum to see people constantly complaining about adds getting through..i'd gladly give my time to check my own town for free...an theres probably lots that would do the same...i would definately do a better job that the present person checking the adds...i also have more time to dedicate to it aswell...more admins is the answer...get the site back to where it should be...a brilliant site

i agree what is the point, i have sent email and feednback on a number of issues with gumtree but have had no reply..

the feedback pages is like a gumtree black hole.. it's so it looks as though they give a damn of what we think when really they dont..

call themseleves a community site!! they should really take off the "no 1 community site" bit off the site.. No 1 Joke perhaps..

how about a section advertising home sales...like in america( garage sale)...mosy people i know visit car boot sales at the weekend..they are very popular....garage sales are very popular in america....i think yjey would be popular here...you could have a section on here advertising private garage sales

lol...it would save people packing up cars an going to car boots...just get your gear in the garden..give the kids something to do aswell...they should have a section on here with garden sales...works great in the us...lot of stuff you cant take to car boots....dont think they'll go for it though cause people would be selling there stuff at them rather than selling it on here
