I don't live in UK right now, but because I want to live about a year in English-speaking country before I'll go to university, I am very much interested in moving to UK or Ireland.
Is it possible to find any kind of job anywhere in Ireland or UK? Or is financial crisis still predominant everywhere?
I have worked in US before and speak English fluently.

what is it you would like to do?

broadly speaking yes you might be able to get a job
whether you could get it from outside the country and whether it would pay enough to keep you is another matter

I could do anything temporary, customer service, cleaning, working with children and so on. I believe there are not so many options. Of course I would like something interesting that involves work in open air (fx hiking with tourists), but I don't have any special education for that.
One thing that I'm especially interested in, is volunteering with animals, children or in environmental organization, but I don't really know if they could pay for my stay and food. I have some money, but it's not enough for a year.

Finding work outside of London is no harder than finding work in london really. The cost of living in London can be significantly higher than other places in the UK, but as more businesses are based there you might find a few more opportunities. Having said that I have a friend who is out of work in London at the moment and finding it really hard to find work, whereas I live on the south coast and found work much quicker. You can volunteer pretty much anywhere in the Uk, but the only exepnse they are likely to cover is travel costs. however some volunteer positions can leas to paid work. good luck!
