Hello Gumtree community,
I've recently run into trouble with Mr Rakesh Patel - an ex-landlord of mine on the Isle Of Dogs, which may run into a legal battle.
Am I alone? Has he done anything unscrupulous to any fellow London tenants in the past? |

I've seen posts or news articles alleging the non-return of deposits and allegations that tenants have lived in converted garages in the property where planning permission was not granted by the local council to convert the garage into a residential space where the council have had to issue enforcement notices. I cannot now find them.
See for example, case Application No: PA/07/01742 on the online planning register on the Tower Hamlets council website.

Unfortunately, as its easy to libel people on forums, most threads that name companies and individuals tend to get taken down. It's a very common name and a historic thread once confused two completely separate individuals who had the same name.
Shelter is the best organisation to advise you how to take legal action against landlords.
For company information, you can pull the company records through the companies house webcheck service for First London Property Management and Second London Property Management Ltd, perhaps FIRST DOCKLANDS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (not sure if it's linked).
For company director reports, a site like Credit Gate is good.
For tracking down the residential address and business info for individuals, 192.com is good. |
