I find London is plagued with these non paying tenants, which is very off putting. The way to avoid these pests is as follows:
1. put all foods away in containers and cupboards where there are no access for these undesirables.
2. don't leave dirty plates and cuttlery around.
3. make sure your bin has a closed lid so radents can not get access to rubbish.
4. make sure your property is not cluttered as this provides hiding places for them.
5. make sure there is no entry to the property where they may be able to squash in through as rodents can come from neighbouring properties and the street.
6. leave rat poison out as I find traps do not really work. |

My humane traps for mice don't work - I've never caught a single mouse.
A friend had a similar experience and switched to baited traps that killed them and caught loads. |

| I've tried baited trap where you leave cheese on it and it never worked! It's a myth that mice likes cheese. They are simply not interested. |

Blimey, Mutley, even I know that the cheese thing is a myth.
I baited my humane traps with chocolate and butter as they like sweet and fatty foods but they don't enter them.
That's why I've got to get the type that'll crush them to death the moment they step near it. I would prefer to be humane but at the moment, I'm not trapping them. I think its easy for that type of trap to close before the mouse steps fully into it. |

As you can see from my forum ID, I am great fan of cartoons when I was younger and still love the idea of them.
Hence I grew up on Tom & Jerry and in those cartoons, mice ate nothing but cheese so surely there must be some truth in it!
I find that meat, espcially raw, serves as a better bait. But rat poison is the best one of all, however, the dead mouse can stink the place out until it is all disintegrated.
With rat poison, they run off to die so you don't know where the dead rat is. |

a much better trap to use is the sticky ones..
they are a big square piece of card and the surface is extremely sticky, as strond as superglue.. the mouse runs across it and gets stuck to the surface..
they never fail! Most DIY stores sell them. |

So how does this work? Do you cover yourself in the peppermint oil? |

I'd be up for it if it could also repel bad tenants! |
