Does anyone have experience in travelling on trains in mainly the highland areas in December and January and if there are different tickets so you can hop on or off where you want.

Hi Thanks for reply. Was just interested if anyone had hints, tips or advice that might not be found on websites.
Have looked at timetables but don't really understand the ticketing prices. |

Not only do they do cheap hostels all over scotland and very funky and cheap they are too, they also run a "mini bus" service between hostels which will be cheaper than the train!!... I've used them loads whilst climbing around scotland so they're highly recommended, check out the web site anyway and see what you think..... cheers fraser |
