Gumtree People,
despite ticking the box to say 'Do not offer me any services of a commercial nature', I am still getting email resposnes to my 'Flat Wanted' adverts, advertising FlatMateClick or FlatMateWorld.
The people sending these emails are obviously too stupid to realise that my post is in 'Flats Wanted' because I *want a whole flat* and not a flatshare.
Needless to say, to each of these emails, I have sent a polite response, pointing out that my advert requests no offers of commercial services and that, as lettings professionals, that the senders honour my request.
Is there anything else I can do? I'm starting to lose the will to be nice to them.

Roo-man,
it's happened again, different company this time, a delivery service, shall I bat them over to you? Sorry to flood you but it might put gumtree newbies off advertising on the site...

try what I do and when someone send something to you that you dont want.. get their email address or fax numer even better and just send them as much crap as you can. I once emailed some wndow company 200 messages.they wouldnt leave me alone until I did that. |

one of my friends was recently convicted of mail-bombing - you all saw the lad named on the front of the Metro a few months back!
so yeah that's actually illegal!

| The actual law is that it's an unauthorised modification of someone's 'computer system' (or something) to send them mail to which they have not agreed. |
