I've had 2 identical responses to an item I posted that I now realize are scams, but I can't figure out what they are getting out of it. I answered the first email (see below) by calling the guy and we made an appointment for him to come to my house and view the item. He wanted all my contact info immediately.
When he showed up he was obviously not interested in buying it (a baby cot), but was very interested in our building and asked whether it was divided into flats, etc.

Then sends out a proffessional looking email from tracking@oops!-online-financial-department.com

Says that oops! is holding the computer and will deliver the item after i transfer money to oops! and that the money will only be transfered to the individual after I have received the computer and signed for it.

But some things wrong with it -

Email asked for only Western Union
Did not give a reference number
Asked to transfer the money directly to this guy and then contact them to say i had transfer the money which would defeat the whole point of using oops!

Hi there i have this three month old Genesis Day 03 bike-TOP OF THE RANGE- for sale with unpunctureable tyres, bought for £850+ extras (lock, lights). Not a scratch on it, hardly been used.
