| As a male nanny myself, I am just wondering what the general feeling is on the topic of employing male nannies? |

Hi, thank you for your comments! I am currently looking for work because it seems most people are only employing females
I understand completly why people feel more comfortable with female nannies but it does frustrate me when I worked hard for my qualifications and have 5 years experience! yet I cant find a job! I suppose its just the ways of the world! I will keep looking because hopefulyl there will be more people like you! |

I've been a manny (male nanny) for quite a while now. The job market has improved a lot over the past 10-15 years, though some parents will still not consider a bloke caring for their children. Luckly there are parents around who will, and they certianly keep me quite busy. I have cared for children aged from 3 days old, up to early teens. Generally I work with under 5's.
Last time I was looking for a full-time nanny job, I found that while the mothers were keen on having a male nanny, agencies reported trouble in getting fathers to agree to having a manny. Is that something you are finding? Have you had much feedback regarding why you are not being selected for interview, or why you didn't get a position if you did get an interview? |

| I have been rejected for a job due to being male before, but recently I have found that is due to "lack of direct nanny experience" Which I can understand however... jave just spent 6 months working for Mark Warner as a nanny every day working with children from 3 months to 18 years! Its a catch 22 situation... which I understand being in when you have recently qualified but Ive been doin the job since i was 16 so it is slightly frustrating, and infact it is making me think maybe I should stop working with kids coz all I seem to get is prejudice at the moment. |

| I would suggest you get prejudice for the same reason many airlines don't allow children to sit next to strange men. |

I wish you well! I have worked in childcare for years and have met many men who work in creches/day nurseries, etc. All of them were very good with the children and very popular with the parents.
My husband is a lot better with our children than myself, and when our children were small i went back to work and he stayed at home with them. This has since changed, but I would have no qualms in employing a male nanny so long as he had the crb checks.
Parents might find a male will bond better if they have sons?
All the best!xxx |

I'm looking to write a piece for a major UK magazine about a male nanny who has found love with his female employer. I would be interested in speaking to the new couple and writing about their experiences. It could all be done over the phone and then we could come to you to take photographs.
We would be able to pay the couple Ј500 to have a chat.

Im a 26 year old widow who is facing the challenge of raising two exceptionally intelligent children. One of which is a boy. I have noticed that with male interation via a couple of close friends his voice and mannerisms seem to alter. It was very endearing to my friends but it got me thinking about role models in the gender distinguishing aspect. Im going with the thought that gender is as important as alpha and numeric recognition only for the purpose of educating my boy child of his options of the type of boys that already exist in the world in relation to the boy figure he chooses to be. To me its as important as knowing your childs aptitudes and preferences of college options. I also believe that teaching my girl child what types of boys exist and not seeing them as an alien life form is a great protection from falling into patterns of choosing the wrong types of male figures as associates, friends, spouce, roommate, boss and an infinate etcetera.
Those in the Indianapolis Indiana area interested in some hours with financial compensation should definatley reply without hesitation. Im looking to extend an opportunity to the right candidate who will be held to a fair standard of screening. |

Not that I have a length or girth problem , but I have always wondered if these things work. I am sure that none of us males on Bax have needed them hum hum , but from what you have heard or experienced, are these "herbal enhancers" real or do they make you waste your money?

Think Robin Williams in "Mrs Doubtfire". Looks at the lengths he went to, to be employed as a manny for his kids. Jokes aside - I really wouldn't mind a manny for my kids provided he has traceable references, and he is moral, decent, reliable, child-friendly, and trustworthy. I would expect the same from a nanny. |
