Lets see who has had the craziest housemate!

I once lived with 2 mates and we advertised for an extra person, this girl came in and seemed pretty normal (although did wear a scary amount of make up) so we gave her the room...... big mistake! She was totally mad and would do the strangest things like get home from work, drink a whole bottle of wine and then go for a jog??? she would eat our food and blame it on the other housemates while they werent around, not petty stuff but things like a pack of 6 lamb chops etc we never once saw her without her make up on, even first thing in the morning! If any of our boyfriends/brothers/male friends came by and she was drunk she would walk around in her underwear. Made long international calls and denied it when the bill came, we evenutally had to move into a new house and tell her there wasnt enought space for her because she wouldnt move out or take our obvious hints.....aaaahh good times! ha ha

anyway im done, hungover and thought this would be fun! who can top my experience?

Here's my top 10:
1. Guy thinks they can boil eggs in the kettle. Egg breaks (duh), kettle stinks = I end up buying a new one because I don't fancy egg flavoured tea
2. Flat mate does not comprehend that you simply can not stand on the couch with shoes on. It had been raining. First the couch was soggy, then it dried and the mud formed nice cakes on it. Flat mate though i was anal about cleanliness and complained too much...
3. Stoners putting hot chocolate (spoon in mug) into microwave. Result = in the 6 months they had to buy 3 new microwaves. Ah well, at least they admitted the mistake and bough new ones with own money
4. Flatmate getting coked out of his head and turns on music full volume 5 am Tuesday morning. Gets aggressive when i tell him to turn it off
5. Flatmate checking out my bra's when drying on the line. Resolved to dry underwear in lockable room
6. Stoners who repeatedly put out spliffs on couch. couch has one million black holes. kinda looks like someone had taken a machine gun to it
7. Vegetarians insisting i have to buy my own fridge to store meat in
8. Flatmate adopting a "cute" cat from the street. result = had to call in pest control due to all the fleas in the house (you could literally see them jumping). Naturally she insisted on splitting the bill
9. Pissing in the bath when wc is occupied. wouldn't have been that disgusting but the plug was in... ew!
10. Assuming i will feed all people. if they are broke, it is their problem. not mine. resolved to eat in own room due to 5 salivating guys pititfully staring at me.

1. A flatmate who doesnt know how to open a can !
2. Dont know that we have to pay a rent at the begining of the month "really ??"
3. Dont understand why the bills are so high (maybe coz you leave the light on EVERYWHERE 24/7 !!)
4. Poo and pee in front of you without closing the door (often dont flush..)
5. Never wash hands after going to the toilets
6. Never rinse the bathtube : lots of hair (all sorts )
7. Always leave wet clothes all other living room, stairs, table, chairs for weeks !
8. Hugely smelly shoes everywhere in the living room
9. Always leaves on the table some wee + tabacco + alcool (dont mind, i clean!! )
10. always walk naked in the house
11. Seats naked in the sofas, chairs
12. Can not talk, only SHOUT on the phone
13. Bring boyfriends all the time ! could be ok but these ones dont realise it's not their house, so YES you need the bathroom/living room & kitchen sometimes
14. Rude boyfriends (and stupids....)
15. Rude flatmates with visitors
16. No personal life

Funnily enough I has to teach my friends flatmate how to peel a potato last Christmas. You'd think that a 26y girl would know how to peel a potato

I read a post on another forum from a tenant who believed his fellow tenant was responsible for smearing excrement on the belongings of others in the house - they feared for their toothbrushes and towels.

One of the house-mates did end up in hospital with a rather virulent form of food-poisoning and probably hoped that they contracted this through badly prepared food rather than the dirty protest of their lovely flat-mate...

I live with this big gal. She takes up all the space in the house except for my room. keeps on moving my stuff and throws it around. leaves me notes threatening me. today she comes up to me n tells me she would break my bone n all , she appears to be absolutely psychotic. I asked the manager to talk to her and find a solution the manager says she does not get involved. I m still leaving in the same house, should I move or live in the same place? my ego/self respect is not allowing to move lol...

Personal relationships are not the responsibility of the landlord - falling out with a fellow tenant is out of scope for anyone else but the tenants themselves.

Don't let pride stop you from moving elsewhere and enjoying a better quality of life (don't cut off your nose to spite your face).

As for the threats, these are a criminal offence and therefore the Police are the best party to report this.

Having said that it's not the landlord's problem, you should keep them informed of any police action as there should be clauses in the tenancy agreement that obliges them not to be anti-social and they may consider evicting her if there's a strong case. Then again, they may take the path of least resistence and not do a thing (since it's hard to evict someone during the fixed term of a tenancy agreement through the courts).
