am planning to drive round Croatia and camp this summer but have heard of having to pay bribes if stopped by police. Someone else told me it can still be a wee bit "edgy" there. Can anyone advise?

Also, are there any "must see's" in Croatia that I shouldn't miss?

Thanks

I travelled Croatia last year on a scooter for 2 weeks from Dubrovnik up to Split and then across the ferry to Hvar with no problems at all. I found the Croatian people to be extremely friendly and helpful - I was never stopped by the police and certainly never found myself in a questionable situation that I had to bribe myself out of (touch wood).

Don't miss Dubrovnik what ever you do, and Korchula is a beautiful island, well worth the effort to visit.

Don't worry, you'll have a blast.

Lis.

Croatia is stunning and everyone seems really friendly.

Pula is worth a visit just for the ampitheatre if nothing else.

Then travel down to Split visiting Krka and Plitvice National Parks.

Definately spend a bit of time "island hopping" to amazing islands such as Bol, Brac, Hvar, Rab, Korchula etc etc

And then Dubrovnik is fab...........but getting very touristy now

Cheers

one of the safest places every, if you are a NZer or Australian, then make sure they know that, as the British and Germans aren't exactly their most favourite people. Make sure you check out Krika (sp?) National Park, Korchula, Hvar (the township of Hvar has a beach party called Carpe Diem) there's loads cool little towns as well
