whata re the details of the job. do you know your duties, name of boat, name of captian, staff amd guest size, where the ship is going, how you get back, duration of contract, and have you spoken to anybody from the ship, what happens when you get to rio does someon pick you up..
it may still be ok but you need all the details you can get to make yourself feel more comfortable |

And have you googled the telephone number or the bank account details they provided to see where this leads?
Only you will know if they are seeking more money from you as they will soon request spurious sums. Those who were scammed before reported that they were then asked for additional sums of money to process work permits or employment passes and training.
If they ask this, say 'sure, i'll pay you in cash when I arrive'...

My advice is that anybody who pays their employer is being scammed - it should always be the other way round.
Don't feel bad - 11,000 were tricked in one country alone
