Hey Guys,
Heading over to London/UK in a few weeks and was wondering how easy it is to open a bank account, get some accommodation and of course work. Apart from visas any other papers required? Currently in Oz...yes another aussie coming over....and want to organise everything before I leave.

Cheers in advance.

Hey Figgy,
I would reccomend you log onto www.oops!.com and check out what you need to bring with you before hand.

Before you can open a bank account, you need a copy of a housebill with your name on it.
In order to do this, you need to move in somewhere. It can be a bit of a mission, but I know that my sister did it through First Contact without her name on the bill. Bring loads of copies of your CV - get it done professionally here rather than back home so that the lingo is similar.

Hope that helps. (I have been here 7 years so can't remember much.
Have fun

Hi, I came over here with nothing as I really wasnt planning on staying but had a work visa just incase.

I ended up having to go to through a company called 1st contact, which was easy enough although it did cost me about £30! So if you cant get everything organised before you come over dont stress too much........although you will save yourself £30 if you can. Smile

Cheers
