Can anyone give me some info on travelling to Sth Africa for a short time please.
In April, I am heading to Durban for 2 weeks. Do I need to get any vaccinations, jabs or pills for this trip?
Any help would be great.
Wink

Cool I think i would recomend you dont spend to much time in Durban as there is not really much to see, its the same as going to Bombay in India, i would suggest you look on these websites for flights directly out of there and go to Cape Town, www.1time.co.za and www.kulula.com, these airlines are pretty cheap so wont break the pocket, £40 max. When you in Cape Town you have endless things to do, if you are interested i could give you some tips otherwise when in durban try to get to the Drakensberg mountain area and Umshlanga rocks is absolutly beatiful, Sunscreen wont be to much of a factor but yes get yourself some factor 20 and see how it goes, its Autumn then and might be a bit windy.

Cape Town is definalty the way to go pal, visit and do plenty of things, try meety up with someone whos got a rental car or rent one your self, cheap cars you can rent are from a local newspaper on thursdays( cape ads)..other than that, winelands (30 mins drive) beaches, long, whiite, sands, cl4ean, free and beautiful.game farms, cape point, table mountain..try do an excurtions of around the tip of the point...feb to march is the hottest months, but latley being a bit windy...no need for heavy clothes, just a jersey maybe an one anorack.try do some adventure trips...go up coast, west coast, long peachy coast lines, grab a surf board, hermanus, for the whales, gaans baai for great white shark diving, dune skiing, seal island trips(both sides-hout bay/simons town) check out boulders beach -simons town(home to penguins/peachy beach)go to kommetjie.sea-point..lots of girls, endless summer and friendly people..try stay in and around the areas at backpackers in muzenberg, kommetjie, altantic side, blou-berg, and cape town central..watch out for going out in the evenings in the central busness district!..try remain to be local...in undated by the street kids..
other then that, you,ll def meet lots of people, have a swell time and plenty of things to do ,places to see...bungee jumping,sky-diving..all so very cheap...try limit your stay as to do things, but also try and have soe time to do nothing, something allways crops up!...def one things to do , just need a transportr, drive chapmans peak!..totally awesome..then try go to noordhoek beach, ...then look out for a place called monkey valley ,just below the end of cjhapmans peack, from hout bay side, as well as the red herring.....best on fridays(happy hour) and sundays! rocks..live band...as stayed here all my life...if need anything else, drop me a line..richietinsley@hotmail.com

once in Cape Town, try to stay at bantrybay guesthouse, in Bantry Bay, 10 min walk from Clifton beaches. It
is a small , quiet guesthouse in a safe, residential area, but only 2 min walk from the beach road and shops! and windfree as well !!
great value for money(from 10 bucks a night), free laundry service, SA simcard etc.
The number is 0737737333, sms and leave a UK landline number, and they'll call you back.
or email bantrybayguesthouse@gmail.com
